Isis One User ID: 76795039 United States 08/13/2018 11:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Oh man, finally some good news regarding my basement. Where my house is located isn't in a 'flood zone' therefore flood insurance isn't required (and so I didn't get it). Flood damage from rain isn't covered under my home owner's insurance BUT there's a loophole! And this wasn't my idea to screw over the system, my insurance agent actually told me lol. She said that if the rain came into the house from outside of the house there is zero coverage for that, but if the rain came into the house due to a pump in the basement being overwhelmed with water there is limited coverage for that. So she basically told me to tell her that's how the rain got inside and flooded the basement. She then told me that because of the number of calls they're receiving today for flooding that they were told no pics or videos are required, just to get a brief description of the damages and they can issue up to a $2,000.00 check to each person with damages. I told her what got damaged down there and told her that I do have pics and a video if she wanted me to send them and she said nope, she had gotten everything she needed from me and would issue the $2,000.00 check today! I was only on the phone with her for maybe 4 minutes total. Quoting: Simple27 Huge relief! I mean, it won't cover the cost of everything, but just about. That's only because Nef can do the work and we don't have to hire someone and pay labor costs. It's gonna take a long time to fix everything, but this insurance money is a HUGE help! A prayer was answered today. We did not have any extra money to deal with this. : ) Excellent news. Glad to hear it!! My basement was ankle deep this afternoon. Sump pump was going crazy. Drain on the garage side got clogged with leaves, ugh! We've got more tropical rain on deck for tomorrow. Had to drain the pool twice today. It was a total monsoon out there. Isis One User ID: 76795039 United States 08/14/2018 12:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hey, Simple! Sorry to hear about the flooding! It's a real pain in the back side!! And lots of work... Glad to hear the insurance company did the right thing!! And glad the wreck wasn't bad! Quoting: justanothergranny I agree with Isis - we are certainly being tested! It's been cooler here for a couple of days - have really been enjoying it! Saw pics of the rain in central TX - that area can have some monumental flash floods. News reported helicopter rescues of people in a camp ground that had to climb trees to escape the floods. Hang in there, everyone. Sending hugs and best wishes out to everyone here!!! Sure hope the worst of the N Alaska EQs are over...just have a nagging feeling it isn't. But I've been wrong before! Love & hugs to all... Spread the word, change the collective conscious......
