Quoting: mistersplinter Continued prayers for Mini. I've had a bunch of MRIs of my head, neck, and back...I've never had one of the leg. Do they put you in feet first? I hope you all have a great week. Glad you have humidity relief today! It's beautiful here today as well. Sunny, clear skies and 64 degrees! : ) Yep, feet first for the knee MRI and she had only gone in up to her waist. We just got back from seeing her orthopedic surgeon and he isn't concerned that she tore it again. A lot of the swelling went down today and she had a lot of motion/range when he was examining her. Something he said would not happen if she had just torn it again last night. So all is good! She's just a little sore still, but she can at least walk today. Thanks for all the prayers and good vibes everyone! Great news! "I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious." -- Albert Einstein |

This man had not been to a doctor in like 20 years and had no health insurance. One of the first things I did when he moved here was make him get health insurance and schedule a physical. Lol, I'm really not a nag (at all), but health is important and I was concerned about a couple of things with him. He had the physical and they did an EKG which came back abnormal. They referred him to a cardiologist who he saw yesterday. The cardiologist is very concerned. He got scheduled for an echo stress test today, but they had to cancel his appointment because one of the doctor's patients had a heart attack overnight. :\ So he is rescheduled for the test this Friday. The cardiologist thinks he has coronary artery disease and may have had a previous heart attack. Told him straight up that if he doesn't quit smoking NOW, he is going to DIE. Good grief. Add that to the already overflowing stress plate. Prayers for him would be much appreciated! As well as suggestions on how to help if anyone has experience with this. Google will be my friend for a while today. Had to take care of Mini first. I told him if he dies I will have to bury him in the backyard because I can't afford a funeral lol. Ya know, making light of a heavy situation. It was a needed chuckle at the time for him. ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

Hospital did an x-ray after I told them that an x-ray didn't detect the original meniscus tear and an MRI had to be done. I guess they didn't feel the need for an MRI. They did at least give her a brace and a set of crutches. Very helpful! You should've seen us walking in there. I could hardly hold her up (she's taller than me and weighs a little more than me). Both of us were laughing just knowing how ridiculous we looked. A nurse came out before we even got to the door and asked if she needed a wheelchair. Ummmm YUP! Haha! Poor kid. I have to call her surgeon tomorrow and let him know what happened. Likely we'll be taking a trip to visit him. Her birthday is in 11 days. Her Sweet 16! I pray it didn't tear again. :\ Always an adventure Thanks for the update, so pretty good news. Hopefully surgeon can reassure its something that will heal nicely and quickly. Gotta be ready to dance!!!!! Simple,,get some of this for her, comfrey,,the Indians called it knit-bone,, for pain and FASTER healing, I don't have time to go into it more,,, read the tons of reviews.. love and praers for Mins and Nef [link to www.amazon.com (secure)] Last Edited by Arnie on 11/07/2018 06:20 PM AKA Auntie Arnie |

I'm doing ok thanks. Just trying to manage work stress. I've never struggled with this to the extent I am now, but this place has constant change which I'm not used to. And there are other factors that I think if handled differently, would decrease the stress for everyone. But I don't see a major overhaul in that sense so I have to determine if I can handle it for the long haul. It would be an easy decision if there weren't so many other good things about it. If only I could focus on only those things, but that is much easier said than done. Hope you are well and feeling close to 100%. You've had a rough year health-wise with various things. I hope next year is better for you in that regard! |

Her surgery knee bent WAY too much very suddenly and she's in lots of pain. Her knee is all swollen and already bruised. We have ice on it for a few minutes and I gave her some Tylenol. Love to all and an extra hug for Mini. *vaporizes* Love the Rijksmuseum! I often go to museums when I travel. That was one of my faves, along with the Prado in Madrid. I also went to the Van Gogh museum when I was there, which I originally wasn't that excited about, but my friend was, so we went. Nothing against Van Gogh, I like a lot of his work but he's not one of my faves. Anyway, I really enjoyed that museum and ended up glad I went. I saw a lot of his work I was unfamiliar with, and they also had some of his personal artifacts there, which I always get into. Hope you enjoyed your day there! such a great city, I can't say one bad thing about my time there. |

I rarely have a headache, so I always take notice when I do. Last time I had a headache like that, the 7.8 in Fiji struck (in Sept). I don't typically jump to making associations of that nature in my case because I can't say I've truly noticed any particular pattern. But I had a dizzy spell out of nowhere in that same 24 hour period, which I've never had and there was no reason for it. The combination of weird symptoms makes me wonder if it was indeed related though, especially with a quake of that size. |
