Omg, after seeing that banner I spent like an hour or so (while I work which I very rarely do) trying to find a site for Mayotte earthquakes. FFS, it's not an easy find. The closest I found wasn't even worth sharing.

I've looked too. There's no site you're guaranteed to find those quakes on. I think the people who live there are frustrated too, based on their testimonies after quakes and comments on twitter. They know there are more EQs happening than are being reported, and they also know many have been larger than reported.

I'm in that mix! Deep purple area for Xmas eve, which he said is around an inch per hour! Which would sorta suck because that's the night I whoop it up with my peeps. Xmas day would be better for my schedule because I usually chill at home and have a few friends over in the evening. But heck, I would sorta love a big snowfall over xmas, so I'll take it even if I have to hunker down on Xmas eve!

Go here ND!

Newly discovered cave in B.C. park might be the largest in Canada

VANCOUVER -- A newly discovered cave in a remote valley in British Columbia's Wells Gray Provincial Park might just be the country's largest.

"It was absolutely amazing," she said. "I immediately recognized that this was very significant."

Before making the trip, Hickson and fellow researchers including John Pollack, a cave expert, spent months studying satellite imagery and rocks in the area, she said.

The entrance pit to the cave is about 100 metres long and 60 metres wide, and while its depth is hard to measure because of the mist from a waterfall, initial examinations show it is at least 135 metres deep.

"It's about the size of a soccer field," Hickson said. "So, if you think of a soccer field and you put that soccer field on its end so you have this pit going down. Think about this giant circular or oval hole that just goes down and down and down. It is truly amazing."

The cave is the largest known of its type, a variety of "striped karst," which is marble interspersed with other types of ancient ocean rock, she said.

Third Mass. marijuana store set to open in Salem

Salem retailer Alternative Therapies Group, or ATG, is set to begin recreational sales at 9 a.m. Saturday, after receiving a “commence full operations” notice from the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission on Tuesday. The company, which has been operating as a medical cannabis dispensary, said its ceremonial first recreational customer would be Salem City Councilor Josh Turiel.

I use a couple sites to monitor and there have been quakes listed on one and not the other every day. I've seen banners like others have mentioned and then neither site has it listed.....

I really noticed this trend after the tsunami warning last week. I do not think things are being reported from "official" sources as they should be.

I also have been noticing readings on solar activity seem to be missing. I was monitoring the solar wind since Saturday and during a period of some bigger quakes there was a section missing from all readings...bz, wind speed, etc. Just no data.... Did something happen to knock equipment offline or did someone censor it?

A HUGE thank you to John & MoN for holding down the day shift today! And Kickin for the night shift!

grouphug

Terribly stressful day. Between work and trying to deal with my sales guy from Toyota because it's time to swap my lease. Dealing with credit applications and personal shit during work is just a nightmare. I'm lucky to use the ladies room once per day, let alone deal with swapping a lease and all that it entails while in that office.

I'm supposed to return my current car on Saturday. Problem is, it's got some dents on the hood. Some rather big. I still have no idea how it happened. My best guess is that someone sat on the hood of my car, leaving a huge dent. Nef had tried to bang the dent out at the time (months ago), but it didn't help much and ultimately made the hood look like it has multiple small-medium/large dents instead of one huge dent.

I brought my current car by Toyota tonight on my way home from work and my sales guy said that Toyota would definitely charge me for the hood dents. And that they will inflate the cost ridiculously. He suggested I fix it before returning it on Saturday. What?! Ummm, I have work tomorrow first of all, and second of all, who could I possibly find to fix that tomorrow?!

This whole car thing is the straw that broke the camel's back. My stress level is completely off the hook. Between work, my health, Ryan's heart, Christmas, shortage of money, etc...I'm ready to throw the towel in.

Oh, and mini's mono test result came in today. Positive. She has mono.

So life is jolly for sure.

And that quickly, I can post this and mean it...

:s27xmas7:

And I know...wah, wah, wah. I hate even posting my gripes, but sometimes I seriously need to get them out of me, for me. Life is heavy right now. In every aspect. I'm just exhausted. I'm a fighter and all, but really?!

Boy can I relate! Got there a couple weeks ago when grandson used my truck and ended up going someplace he shouldn't - got all 4 tires sliced!!! And he got arrested when the cops came to investigate the tire-slashing, because he had an outstanding warrant. On top of everything else, it was just too much.

I literally was ready to take the great-grandbaby and run away. Instead, I let go. I looked at all that was going on and if it was something I had no control over, I gave it to God to handle. Easy to say, harder to do. But it worked.

I know that this time of year brings its own stress - too much to do and not nearly enough time. And tight finances don't help. Add in health issues, job stress, etc etc etc...
So, be kind to Simple! Mini will get well, Ryan's health is being monitored, and Christmas will come & go. Please take care of you & your health so you can be there for the ones you love & who love you! You are a precious soul, and important to so many people!

Take some quiet time, reach deep inside, and either pray or meditate. Separate from the daily stress, and let the Lord tend to all the worries while you refresh your being. Let the love of all your friends here wash through you, and let the total love of the Lord flood your soul. I love you, lady! You have a special place in my heart.

Lordy - I look back at this, and have to chuckle! Here I was, going off to bed and really feeling like my world was pretty calm...then, from a dead sleep at 11 pm my time, I get the call from LifeAlert that my mom has fallen, is injured, and the EMTs are nearly there. So, we get dressed asap and head into town. Spent the night at the ER. She just face-planted. Didn't hit the fireplace, or the wooden arm of the sofa. Grazed the coffee table with her jaw. And her only serious injury is a broken arm. We are blessed that she's not seriously injured!!!! She's in the local rehab hospital for maybe another 10-12 days, learning how to cope and do things one-handed.

Damn, life can turn on a dime. But it could have been so much worse!!!!! I thank God daily for keeping her safe.
