For those interested, check out the testimonies on this quake. Once again, many references to it being longer/stronger than the magnitude would indicate. At least one of the comments mentioned how most of these quakes are larger than being reported.

Damn, that is scary. Crime is getting much more bold here as well - armed robberies happening in the middle of the day as you mentioned. Can you have pepper spray with you at work? It's better than nothing.

Also MoN, perhaps think about what you might do if you were confronted with that situation in your store? Of course, it's hard to "plan" for such an event, but thinking through potential options of how to help yourself and your coworkers might make you feel better.

The only thing I hate about crabs/crab legs is the effort. Good thing it's so delicious, 'cause takes some work! Those king crab legs are really tough to crack. One night some friends and I had a king crab leg feast, I had cuts and scrapes all over my hands from those darn things by the time it was over. Looked like I had gone to battle. They are sharp! But it's fun to try and get those big chunks of meat out in one long piece. It's like a contest, and then once you do it you have to hold it up and show it off to everyone - "look what I did", lol (at least that's what me and my friends do. Maybe it's our minimal exposure to crab legs here in the midwest - we don't get the practice you do).

Thought I'd drop this here to show off, lol. Isis and I were talking about this yesterday - wanting to get snowed in. Of course, we were talking about freak, BIG snows that shut the city down. This won't be quite that, however, we could potentially be looking at upwards of 9" according to the news just now, which would be the biggest snowfall we've had here in a while. And being on a weekend, the city will probably all but shut down just because it's easier to do so on a Saturday.

I'm ready, so BRING IT mother nature. I plan to hit up the grocery before the panic ensues and get stuff for soup since I already have homemade turkey stock in the freezer. I'll be set. There will be booze, of course, but I'm already good there.

When i was in High School, someone went around on all the guys bathrooms seats and wrote "I got crabs" in permanent marker.

There's a popular bar/restaurant here that has a lot of graffiti in the bathrooms. Not sure if it's still there, but many years ago written on the inside of the stall was, "I like the pope 'cause the pope smokes dope". Made me laugh hard and still does. Seriously, it's been 15 years since I saw that and I still laugh about it. I guess I'm easily amused.
