Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated
Ugh, Nef's CT scan results came in online. On top of the heart situation, I think we have another serious situation on our hands.

This is going to sound dramatic, but trust that I did a lot of research before suggesting this...I truly think he may have lung cancer.

Results (partially)...

QUANTITATIVE CALCIUM SCORE EXAM

The total calcium score is: 985.5

Distribution is 1.08 in LMA, 464.21 in LAD, 12.06 in LCX and 508.15 in RCA Territory.

Based on large population studies, calcium scores are statistically associated with the following risks:

0: No identifiable plaque. Risk of CAD = <5%
1-10: Minimal identifiable plaque. Risk of CAD = <10%
11-100: At least mild atherosclerotic plaque. Mild CA stenosis likely
101-400: At least moderate plaque. Mild CAD highly likely, significant stenosis is possible.
>400: Extensive plaque. High likelihood of at least one significant CA stenosis.

EXTRA CARDIAC ANATOMY / FINDINGS

ALL OF THIS IS BAD!!!!

Moderate fibrotic upper lung predominant centrilobular and paraseptal emphysema.

Calcified pulmonary granuloma.

6-7 mm pulmonary nodule right upper lobe image 73 series 601.

1.7 cm low right paratracheal lymph node.

1.5 cm right hilar lymph node.

Partially calcified 1.2 cm AP window lymph node.

Ill-defined soft tissue density in the anterior mediastinum may reflect thymic hyperplasia/reactivation.

IMPRESSION:

1. Marked coronary artery calcification with calcium score 985.5 and areas of known stenosis versus occlusion in the LAD and right circumflex artery as above.

2. Normal left ventricular systolic function with ejection fraction 65% and no focal wall motion abnormality.

3. Moderate fibrotic upper lung predominant centrilobular paraseptal emphysema.

4. 6-7 mm pulmonary nodule right upper lobe and several enlarged mediastinal and right hilar lymph nodes. Pulmonary consultation advised to determine direction of further assessment.

5. Moderate left atrial enlargement.

This really doesn't look good and I am truly worried far more now than before.

Oh no, this doesn't look good. Of course, I have no idea what most of that means, but it sounds scary. Do the doctors fear he has lung cancer or is that something you came up with on your own based on something in these results? How is he coping with all this? How are you doing? I'm really sorry, this is a lot to deal with.

hugs

We both have our current/recent health records available to us online through a patient portal available by our network. I just so happened to log on to his today shortly before leaving work to see if his CT scan results were in and sure enough, there they were. I've been Googling this network's results for about 3 years now for myself. I only research medical links and, for the most part, at this point I can quickly learn how to read, and understand, test results from our network.

These results look bleak. I don't know if I just used that word appropriately, but I do know what these results are pointing towards.

This isn't cool. :\

WEEKEND GEOMAGNETIC UNREST: For the next few days, Earth is expected to skim through a number of minor solar wind streams associated with a southern hole in the sun's atmosphere. This will likely stir magnetic unrest around Earth's poles, albeit not full-fledged geomagnetic storms. Intermittent Arctic auroras are possible this weekend.

CLOSE ASTEROID FLYBY: On Jan. 8th, asteroid 2019 AS5 flew past Earth only 8600 km above our planet's surface. Nine hours after the flyby, it was discovered by the the Mt. Lemmon Survey telescope in Arizona. The asteroid was closer to our planet than many satellites.

This diagram shows 2019 AS5 inside the orbits of GPS and other geosynchronous satellites: [link to spaceweather.com]

If the 1 to 2 meter-wide space rock had hit Earth (and it almost did) it would have caused a brilliant fireball in the atmosphere with sonic booms and scattered meteorites on the ground--but no serious damage.

Earth's gravity significantly bent the asteroid's orbit during the flyby. To illustrate this effect, the Minor Planet Center has created an interactive 3D diagram of the encounter, which flung 2019 AS5 away from our planet after its brief visit. [link to minorplanetcenter.net (secure)]

Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated
It does sound scary Sim. Can't deny that at all and it is only logical that that gives you even more anxiety. hugs

But we must also not forget that technology and skills have advanced so much the past decades. CT and other scans nowadays give us much more information too. On one side that is scary, because there is so much more terms, measurements and other notes and reports and information available for both doctors and patients, but it also gives the opportunity to give all involved more clarity about the stage a disease is in and all that and what can be done to stop the symptoms at an earlier stage.

And that gives the much needed hope to hold on too, next to the actions that need to be taken to get the healing process going and set priorities for both doctors and patients.

I know, the above doesn't mean a fuck if you are overwhelmed by anxiety and emotions that go with all that you see and read and especially you with your long history of bad advises and countless doctors visits, but maybe at one point you find the calm back and look at it from a solving perspective toward the future and know that there is so much more that can be done today than years ago.

Most important is also to be pro active toward the doctors as well. Do not take no for an answer or have them schedule an appointment to far ahead. Don't wait for their call, call and if it takes to long for them to answer, call again. Our body is our body and not an agenda item.

I sent you a link in pm as well. Maybe that gives a bit more insight as well, even though you probably already have it as an experience expert. My thoughts are with you, Nef and Mini. Don't give up hope and don't rule out the advanced medical standards of today. Things will be okay.

And wishing everyone a safe and relaxing weekend. It's been a hectic start of the new year for many of us, in various shapes and forms. But we will get there. No doubt about that. Stay strong!
