I'm really stressed out, scared to death, and worried about my hearing. Some improvement has happened, but it is not daily or rapid. At the very least, the massive echo that was plaguing my hearing has improved.

I have been to my ENT for a thorough ear cleaning. Been to my audiologist to take my hearing aid units back for repair, and using an old recent digital. I've been everywhere I can go as soon as this started. They all say it will return when my ear infection goes away. ENT didn't say a word about a ruptured eardrum, which I guess is a good thing.

I hope so. I have little remaining hearing in my right ear (which already has 50-60 dB hearing loss). I can't lose this. I just can't. What good is life if music and sound are taken away from me?

I guess I'll feel better if I can just have something coming back.

I would assume they're right about the ear infection causing the recent hearing loss. I do hope it improves once the infection is cleared up. You're taking antibiotics right?

It is finally improving. Thank God.

Yes, I have been prescribed antibiotic ear drops to clear up the infection. Have to take them at 4 drops, twice a day for 7 days. Such a pain, but necessary. I am approximately 3 days in I think.

Totally sucks. But at least I know it's not permanent. At least, it doesn't seem that way.

EDIT: I can hear my computer speakers again!!! Instead of one big muffled damned faint echo, it's now much less echo and is clearer and louder. It is returning. Not 100% yet but it's getting there.

Excellent news! And hopefully it will continue to improve as you finish up the ear drops. You're only halfway through so this improvement is a great sign. : )
