Kids these days will never know the joy and excitement of walking into your class and seeing that the TV & VCR had been rolled down from the library on it's giant cart. Even if it was a lame educational documentary, it was better than a lecture. But, when you found out it was Reading Rainbow and it wasn't even Friday, it was the best part of the day.

Anyway, off to bed in a minute. Important day tomorrow. Again!

Going to be another day of meetings, looking for solutions, sometimes against better knowledge and keeping this company alive. I know I am just a mere chain link in it, but never give up without a fight. Even though this time it gets kinda nervous.

So wish me luck! I can use the energy that you always bring me. Thank you for that! hf

Enjoy your time zones my friends. Love to all. hugs

Nice description - I love the nostalgia of that! It was definitely special to see that cart in the classroom. I'm older than you and when I was in grade school (and even into 7th grade), it was actually a film projector on that cart. The absolute worst was when the damn film reel broke! The teacher would have to try to carefully repair (tape) the broke ends and re-feed it, and then we'd all have to wait while she fast forwarded the damn thing to where we left off.

You guys are funny! I was one of the people that delivered these carts and projectors to the different rooms in high school. I was stationed in a secretaries room just off of the library where the carts were stored. A lot of rooms had the equipment but some needed fast delivery. It was fun to go flying down the halls of the school between classes delivering "the carts" to different rooms. Later on they became large TV's with VCR's.

I am sorry you are experiencing this trouble CS. I read up on it a bit and I guess the only thing you can do, as much as it sucks, is try to stay patient. The ear infection must be the root of it and in most cases you hearing comes back after the infection is gone. You have to trust in that. And try to not think the worst. Be patient and let it heal. hf

I love this! So you were the A/V guy! Not a shocker, you're a reliable guy and have a knack for that stuff. Yep, there was always an A/V guy to rescue the day. Some teachers were better with those projectors than others, so if there was a glitch sometimes the A/V guy would have to make an appearance to help out.

Now I'm thinking about overhead projectors too. And those waxy pencils the teacher used to write on the plastic sheets that were being projected. Ahh, the good ol' days.

What our generation has witnessed technology-wise is quite amazing when you think about how far we've come in such a short time. Seriously, we're not that ancient and yet we were watching FILM ON REELS.
