Not much definite on the work front yet. The net is tightening though. Can't say too much, other than that it is extremely difficult.

But we keep on fighting! I do see people losing faith, which is very logical, but whatever happens, we will always be alright. One way or another.

I also have to mention that age is quite an issue in our company. The average age must be around 50 or so and we have close to 300 people at work.

And you know how it goes, the older you get, the more nostalgic you get as well, bragging about olden days being sooooo much better.

Yesterday I asked a colleague, who is close to retirement: "What do you prefer more, Christmas or sex?"
He replied: "Christmas of course!"
I said: "Christmas? Of course? Why Christmas??"
He said: "Well, that's more often.."

Ok, ok, I am leaving already! Enjoy your Tuesday everyone! Love to all. And don't forget to smile. hf

I have to say, the "old days" were better in many ways.

It's nice to hear there is a company out there with an average employee age of 50-ish! Good for your employer, that's not something you come across much. Which is crazy, 50 isn't that old, and in today's world everyone's working in their 50s. But I've seen a few threads on this site from people in their early 50s who could not find a job. Ageism is real.

Of course the old days were so much better. As upcoming oldtimers (50 years from now) we can acknowledge that and we got the images to prove it...

But then again, the youth from now will say the same thing about this era. GLP, if it still exists, will be a virtual reality experience, where every thread has it's own holodeck.

This earthquake thread will most likely have transformed in to one of those decks, where people can actually experience the earthquakes as if they are there. And everyone can transform to whatever smiley and avatar they choose in a matter of nano seconds.

Of course there is room for "Doom Decks", where crowds gather at Doom Spots at the mere suspicion of doom. Something like CNN now, being at a murder scene before the actual murder has happened.

But, you will also see how crowded Music and Love Decks where people get together to give each other real hologram hugs and play tunes and sing along, with a big statue of the founder Captain Carter in the back.

Life was good then, life is good now and life will be good 50 years from now. It's all in our mind set. We shape our past, present and future.
