Fire Reported at ITC – Media Release Statement 10
For Immediate Release
LA PORTE, Texas; Tuesday, March 19, 2019 – (UPDATE). - This is a 10 AM Update
regarding the fire at the Intercontinental Terminals Company (ITC) LLC in La Porte,
Texas:
Fire intensified overnight on Monday due to a temporary loss of water pressure and
water resources between the hours of 4:00PM and 10:00PM. The loss of water
pressure was due to the malfunction of two fireboat pumps that were providing water to
firefighters operating on the scene. Water pressure and water resources have been
restored and emergency responders continue working on suppressing the fire on tanks
80-2, 80-3, 80-5, 80-6, 80-8 and 80-11. Tanks 80-9 and 80-12 were empty and have
collapsed. Earlier this morning, tanks 80-14 and 80-15, both containing pyrolysis
gasoline, are confirmed to be on fire....

Right, don't give up! Many of us care. I figure if I post something on whatever thread and even one person finds it interesting or worthwhile, then it was worth posting. And keep in mind we have specific threads for things like EQs and weather because many of us are interested! I still think you should create a thread when you feel the situation warrants it, but if you aren't getting much response you can always take something like this Idai storm to the weather thread. You know there people will be interested. And sometimes threads don't take off simply because of timing, not lack of interest. It doesn't always take long for a thread to get pushed to the 2nd page, and sometimes when that happens it's hard to revive.

That was my reaction because whatever you had posted was a tweet or article that said there was nothing to worry about and no need to evacuate the surrounding area. I couldn't understand why they were saying that, considering the situation/location of the fire and the fact that they didn't even have it under control at the time, although it wasn't nearly as bad as it is now. What a bunch of idiots!
