All of the volcanoes in Iceland have a current status of green/normal. But with all these quakes it would appear something's stirring down below.

This is a comment from a "specialist" on the recent quakes:

Specialist remark

Earthquake swarm in Öxarfjordur, NE-Iceland.
The earthquake swarm in Öxarfjordur is ongoing, about 6 km SW of the town of Kópasker. The swarm began on last Saturday 23 of March.

Eight earthquakes of magnitude 3 or higher have been measured, the largest of which measured M4.2 on March 27th. Around 2400 earthquakes have been detected since the earthquake swarm started.

Today ( March 30th ) around 45 earthquakes have been detected, the largest one M1.7. During the last 24 hours the intensity has decreased a lot. The swarm is still ongoing. Monitoring of the earthquakes will be followed closely during the week-end.

Nearly 520 earthquakes were detected by the IMO SIL seismic network last week. Nearly double the amount of the previous week when they were 290 in total. The two largest earthquakes of the week, M3.3 and M3.2, occured in an earthquake swarm by Grímsey, where over 250 earthquakes occured on the 18th and 19th of March. Similar activity was deteced in the Vatnajökuls volcanoes, Grímsvötn, Bárðarbunga and Öræfajökull, compared to the previous week.

It was great. The pics don't let you realize the sheer size of some of those tanks. That one with the tunnel under it was just massive. The only part that sucked was getting into and out of downtown Atlanta...I am soooo not a big city guy.
