"If our work is correct, the next century isn't going to be like the last one, but could be more like the century that ended in 1918," geologist Glenn Biasi said in a news release. "We know these big faults have to carry most of the [tectonic] motion in California, and sooner or later they have to slip," said Biasi. "The only questions are how they're going to let go and when." Anonymous Coward User ID: 72791376 United States 04/03/2019 06:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yay. Back to normal hearing again. Doc cleaned it all out. Gave me new ear drops. 10 more days, and this should be it - no more ear infection. I think I will get a new ear mold (the hearing aid's ear piece) and dry 'n store unit just to be on the safe side. |

I know I'm repeating myself. The ionospheric conditions above Haiti are approximately a 5, so, there may be something to that, kickinit. My understanding of it is that any reading extremely high or extremely low is bad and can be a precursor to a quake. Studies have been posted on here in the past about the topic and although there are no firm conclusions by the experts, they have found correlations of quakes with both very high AND very low readings. Since I started paying closer attention to it, the times I've managed to catch a correlation the reading had been extremely low prior to the quake more often than high. I've seen both, but most often it was low. That may or may not mean anything, it could just be how it's worked out when I've caught it. I keep watching though. With that all being said, a 5 is middle of the road, so that would not be a spot I'd be concerned about. But that doesn't mean several hours or 2 days ago Haiti wasn't in a high/low zone, in which case it should be watched. I just don't check the ionosphere map often enough to keep up with the hot spots, that's the problem with my efforts to figure all this out, lol. And of course, there are always other factors that can contribute to a quake, and the ionosphere readings don't always have to be one of them. |
