Damn Simple, I admit that doesn't sound good. I'm glad you're motivating and encouraging him to take better care of himself. Hoping for a celery juice miracle here! How does he feel overall? All of this stuff combined has to have some effect.

Last night I saw my first ever sprite with the naked eye , and this was it. I traveled to shoot over storms in central Kansas with small expectations. It turned into one of the biggest sprite storms I have ever witnessed with 3 naked eye sightings.

He feels good. It's strange really. You'd never know he has so much doom going on inside of himself. He has a little fatigue, but other than that he's good. And for someone with fatigue, he actually has impressive energy.

I stress all of this WAY more than he does. He doesn't even stress it, which blows my mind. And at times aggravates me.

His lungs sounded clear today when the doc listened to them. They always have though and there's obvious problems internally so I don't gain a whole lot of enthusiasm over that. The newly found renal lesions are freaking me out, as well as the newly found lung nodules. It sounds to me, based on everything I'm reading on his results, that there's some spread/metastasis going on. I don't like the 6 month wait for the next chest scan. But I am glad the kidneys ultrasound will be sooner. My dad got renal cancer and he's still here kicking like a champion. Cancer free. Although my dad is otherwise healthy. Nef, not so much even though you can't tell.

But if we have a hard battle ahead, I will suit up and fight. And will make damn sure he's fighting too.

Not good overall...

The right upper lobe pulmonary nodule is stable as of now which is good. Radiologist says it hasn’t grown, however the pulmonologist (and myself) thought it looked bigger than the previous scan. And we've only been given a range both times, no exact measurements so it may have in fact grown slightly but not of concern (to them). In addition to that one nodule we've been concerned about, there are now multiple additional smaller nodules, bilateral lungs, seen. :\

Lymph nodes still enlarged which indicates they aren’t enlarged due to an infection. Not good. One of the enlarged lymph nodes previously wasn't of concern because it's calcified. However now we know this one has stippled calcification. Really not good and associated with malignancy. Soft tissue is also seen in the anterior mediastinum, which is generally associated with lymphoma or malignant thymoma.

Moderate emphysema.

Congestive change. Not good.

Marked coronary artery calcification.

Partially visualized exophytic upper pole renal cortical lesions. He'll need an ultrasound scheduled to further evaluate these as these could be malignant. The "exophytic" wording isn't good.

Mild fatty changes of the pancreas. This man doesn't drink, so this is also not a good sign.

Will have a repeat chest CT scan in 6 months. Will have a kidney ultrasound done sooner to check on those lesions.

None of this is good news. : (

By the way, my daughter and her 2 cherubs and hubby made it here from Indiana!

Simple it sound like you know as much a the Doctors with Nef. He should be very happy to have a person like you there with your knowledge and support. You are on top of this. Best wishes from California.

I just wish that they would hurry their asses up and get things moving if the news is that dire at this stage of the game.

At least if they were to catch something early enough there'd be a fighting chance.

Damn. I am so sorry about all the worries you are going through Sim.

But you know, if only a tiny bit of the fighting spirit you carry in you rubs off on Nef, his chances are better. You have fought demons bigger than life and came out a winner.

Nef not stressing it, must also be a pose. I am sure it does stress him, but he doesn't want to stress you out more either. Like he is protecting you.

Yet he should take you as an example, not brush this off, but buckle up and attack this threat with you, as a team. This fight is far from lost, but it truly is time to wake up now and start thinking about the route to overcome this, together.
