I love you back WA! Was just talking about you last night to Nef. He's taken a new interest in the solar minimum and has been watching back to back videos on it for like 6 days now lol. I was telling him that you're super knowledgeable on the subject and also about what your professor said way back when.

I hope you and the family are well and have a wonderful 4th of July!!!

hugs
 Quoting: Simple27

They are calling for a Grand Solar Minimum now......yes, I am very interested in this topic. After this May and most of June being much cooler than average, it will be interesting to see if there will be a steady decline in temps, like there was during the Maunder (1645-1715) and Dalton (1790 to 1830) Minimums. I'm 60 now, so my teacher's timing is now.

jaynod

It all makes perfect sense.

 Quoting: Simple27

Isn't it funny that that teacher knew when we would be 60 the grand solar minimum would be starting and here it is looking like that was correct. There was a bunch of articles in the 70's that talked about the coming ice age, including the Times, but they had to back tracked it because it was causing panic among the igits who weren't reading that it would be 40 years in the future.

I'd like to know and have researched and researched, how did they know the exact timing when solar cycles are not exact, that it would be beginning now in 2019???? How did they know???

Which means; what else was said back then that we can no longer read because it has been deleted??? AND why are "they" so quick to pooh-pooh a mini ice age because the so called global warming will off-set it.
(this is tongue in check----you mean like the dinosaurs off-set the full blown ice ages??? lol)

Sounds yummy. I will be having a Mike's Black Cherry after dinner. Brother-in-law and his wife will be here in about 2 hours from Texas and I will need the beer that doesn't taste like beer. lol

Just made what we called a Cherry Delight pie. So good and so simple
8 oz Cool Whip
1 can sweet condensed milk
1/4 cup lemon juice (fresh or bottled)

Mix together and plopped in a graham cracker pie crust. Top with cherry pie filling and a little whipped cream if wanted.

So yummy and so easy. 5 minutes at the most to make.

I like a lot of the Mike's beverages, although I realize now I haven't bought any for a while. I've become a big fan of the hard seltzers. They are basically like La Croix or other flavored seltzer waters, except they somehow have booze. You can't tell there's booze at all, which is a bit dangerous. As I get older I have less tolerance for the super sweet stuff, so these seltzers are a nice change of pace and rather refreshing when it's hot out.

Your pie sounds good, but when I think of you cooking all I can ever think of are those delicious yeast rolls you make. OMG my mouth is watering just thinking of them!

We're just over halfway through 2019 and the Steamboat Geyser has already erupted 25 times, according to the US Geological Survey. That puts it on track to surpass last year's record of 32 eruptions -- the largest number ever recorded in a year. The record before that was 29 eruptions in 1964.
The Steamboat Geyser erupted seven times just last month alone, the USGS said. June's outbursts, which occurred on the 1st, 7th, 12th, 15th, 19th, 23rd, and 28th, also smashed the record for the shortest interval between eruptions -- just over three days.

WA -- happy 4th of July!!!!! hi

Good to see you. hugs

I just have a few questions for anyone with this line of thought, though....

10. Do these people deserve to have genocide committed against them?

Just questions. That is all.

Enjoy your holiday.

 Quoting: CuriousSeeker

Hope you have a good one too. Hope your aides are working better. I do read some from time to time and saw your issues.

America cannot support the entire world. Genocide? We aren't killing these people.
My issue is they are pouring across the border illegally and not wanted. They are bused into small towns that can't support them and were not asked to have them there. They then commit crimes against the people there. Have read about several small towns that only had 5,000 people. Then the buses arrived and now are 15,000 people. There wasn't housing for them so they are sleeping on the streets. The Sheriff came in, rounded all of them up and told ICE to come get them.

Of course the above sounds horrible to the illegals - but what about the small town folks who were basically raped of all their hard work? These illegals and so called sanctuary people, are ruining and changing the face of the USA.

That is actually genocide against AMERICAN CITIZENS. It is killing us.
 Quoting: WhiteAngel

But, that’s just it.......the actions don’t have to result in killing......it’s performing them in whole or in part that is defined as genocide......

And America is no longer small town America.

We could spend $90 billion dollars on those facilities and give them decent care and set up a kinder, better system.

Instead $90 billion dollars is going to the self aggrandizement and ego stroking parade of a dictator-in-chief who is friends with and worships Kim Jong-Un and Putin, and undermines the trust of our worldwide allies.

Instead that money could go towards immigration reform and creating a better process that doesn’t end in genocide or destroying people.

Do you see the problem with that?

On the subject of my hearing aids........ugh!! They continue their downward spiral. No telling how much longer they are going to last until I get my new ones. Sigh!!!
 Quoting: CuriousSeeker

I'm so sorry about the aids. My uncles were almost deaf and always struggled with their aids and the $1,000's of wasted money they spent just to be able to hear.

But we can't take them all. It is wrong that I can't say that (not to you) without it being a race issue. I don't want millions and millions of them here changing us to a third world country. Look what has happened in the big cities with all the homeless. Most of those are Americans. Born and bred. Yet people from other countries that aren't even suppose to be here are treated better. I think that is my biggest issue.

They are not immigrants when they cross over the border illegally. They are then illegal aliens. I don't want open border. I didn't vote for open borders.

That is the whole issue.

I should hush.....lol....rant off.

Indian Wells Valley is an arid north-south basin in east-central California. In the geologic sense, it is a southern extension of Owens Valley to the north, with the recent volcanics of the Coso Range being the separator. It is defined by a major fault on the west side of the valley.

China Lake is the United States Navy's largest single landholding, representing 85% of the Navy's land for weapons and armaments research, development, acquisition, testing and evaluation (RDAT&E) use and 38% of the Navy's land holdings worldwide. In total, its two ranges and main site cover more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2), an area larger than the state of Rhode Island. As of 2010, at least 95% of that land has been left undeveloped. The roughly $3 billion infrastructure of the installation consists of 2,132 buildings and facilities, 329 miles (529 km) of paved roads, and 1,801 miles (2,898 km) of unpaved roads.
