Tens of thousands without power as severe weather moves through, with heavy downpours, flash flood warning, swim hazards

there were almost 500,000 without power here in Michigan,,,many last night storms. I had a large branch fall into the back patio.....trimmed it up, but the thick part will have to wait for the son tomorrow.

Hope the tree didn't damage anything. Those storms definitely looked nasty. Derechos, in my experience, can be as damaging as tornadoes and widespread as well.

Yeah, we had a really bad one here in '08. Everyone still calls it "storm of the century". It was definitely the worst storm I've witnessed. The whole place - city, county, wherever - looked like a war zone. Many areas were without power for a week, some more.
