Winters are very mild lately, maybe quite a bit of snow, but no cold spells for weeks at a time anymore. Even though I know in the USA you sometimes have really severe and cold winters lately. Pole shifting is real. It's definitely become unpredictable. Since 2013 in STL we've had super mild winters with hardly any snow, up until last winter, which was very wet for us. But winters overall are not "predictable" like they were many years ago. Winter isn't necessarily even cold much of the time anymore here. Or, it will be abnormally arctic like we had throughout the winter of 2013. Again, it seems to comes down to extremes. This winter the farmer's almanac says we are due for a wet winter again with lots of snow! |

We are able to analyse observation and translate that to helpful means in other fields, like medical, the universe etc., so why not in this field? Maybe they don't like the intrusion into their specialism. Kinda like the X-files, where Mulder is open to something being out there that can't be explained and Scully trying to reason it from a scientific point of view.
