Off to bed in a minute. Made some good progress today on the job front. I am now in touch with the chairman of combined companies in the area, not sure how to say it otherwise.

He is a very well respected and much wanted consultant in company change and development and is trying to promote me with other companies, was impressed with my feel for language and writing and gave me insight and perspective where my skills can be used best, in the field of content marketing, technical story telling. He sees possibilities there and asked me, as some kind of try out, to give my view on his website in the coming week. Might be a job in it as well. Challenging, because I am a noob in that respect.

Not the field I am used to work in, but it could be a new angle and the right connection to my passion for writing. So let's see how that develops. Pretty excited about it.

And now I am off to bed. Enjoy your time zones everyone. Love to all! hf

Oh and Sim, can you please check your pm again? Thanks! hugs

Night! *poof, gone*

just wow

2011

The ones [earthquakes] near Snyder are very close to a fault system called the Llano Front and the Llano Front is where some other piece of continent crashed into North America and caused deformation there," Gurrola said.

Gurrola showed us a map of the fault line that you can see in our video on our page. Snyder lies very close to the Llano Front.

The United States Geological Survey recorded data from Sunday's quake and Gurrola says diagrams show it was most likely caused by horizontal movement along the fault.

"Strike slip means the rocks passed horizontally across each other not vertically," Gurrola said.

In 1979 near Galveston, we had a tropical storm come ashore. Pushed tides up. And stalled right over us. At the time, the weather service reported the rainfal as 48 inches in 36 hours. They later downgraded the amount a little. But the flooding was horrible. I know exactly what those folks went through.

An account of Texas’ seismicity would not be complete without considering the effects of earthquakes from neighboring regions. Popular legend holds that the New Madrid, Mo., earthquakes of 1811-1812 were responsible for the formation of Caddo Lake. However, there exist accounts of the lake’s existence as a swampy area as early as 1722. Whether the shocks deepened the lake is not known. In any case, it is likely that moderately high intensities of shock waves were experienced in Northeast Texas.

Satellite intensity estimates are back on the rise, and approaching major hurricane status, again.

We are all people, with our own daily worries, loves, laughs, tears, sad and happy things, struggles. The past decades our eyes have been more shut to the ones around us. This society has changed and not always for the better..

24/7 TV, social media, influential or not, push messages. We suffer from a serious case of infobesity, in your face coverage round the clock. Combined with the need to be recognized, to be heard. My niece puts even message on FB when she goes for a smoke or to let the world know the cat has farted 25 times, in the morning only.

Today's technology is modern days Pandora's Box. Everything can be seen and more important said. Wishing each other ill or worse, encouraging others to hate a different opinion or way of life. All in anonymity and under the umbrella of free speech of course. Use words on live tv that were beeped out a couple of years ago.

I am far from a saint myself, but we are so influenced by what we see and hear, that we fail to see the division and pressure it creates in our society. Individuality, more and more anger towards each other and ourselves and often we don't even know why. That has nothing to do with whatever political style you hang on to, nothing to do with being liberal, conservative or whatever color you hang on to. It has to do with us, the core being that we carry inside us.

And even though that lid on this modern Pandora's Box can not be closed ever, maybe there is still time to reflect and try to return to a society where respect for each other is key again. Live and let live, as naive as that may sound. Return to a level where we get back from being managed like AI robots to trusting our own instincts and feel for humanity again.

The responsibility lies in our hands, our mindset, our norms and values, how we treat each other, online and in our daily lives. As long as we do not regain respect for and belief in each other, things will only get worse.

The question is whether we have not strayed to far into a world where power, violence and money determine our behavior. You can argue that of course, but I for one have never been one to throw the towel. I like to believe is still more good than bad in this world and if I can contribute to increase that balance in my own circle of influence, I will gladly do so. Believe in yourself and others. Everyone wins.

We are the ones that not only determine the limit, we are that limit.

Just my long two cents thought for this Sunday..

Even one light shining in the dark has an effect. If we would all do as you suggest, what kind of good revolution could we start???? Love you, my friend!!!

This Littlepixie just came across this link about cholesterol after putting "there is no such thing as bad or good cholesterol" into a search engine, there are lots more links.

[link to metabolichealing.com (secure)]

I remember reading up about cholesterol a long time ago and all I remember is: that cholesterol medications mess with the body and it's ability to do what it does naturally.
 Quoting: AdorableLittlepixie

There’s a significant correlation between introduction of cholesterol medication to US population with the increase in Alzheimer’s diagnoses if I’m not mistaken.
 Quoting: Isis One

snip:
Cholesterol and Brain. One of the most dependent organs on cholesterol is the brain. Although the brain comprises about 3 percent of total body weight, one-quarter of the body's cholesterol is found in the brain. It is the fattiest organ in the body, consisting of up to 60 percent fat.

(lower cholesterol, loss of brain function...)

Why does the brain need cholesterol?
Until recent years, cholesterol had one of the worst reputations in the food industry. Cholesterol, and fat in general, were thought to clog arteries and increase the risk of heart disease.

We now know that low-fat and low-cholesterol diets are a mainstream nutrition myth. Cholesterol is a component of every cell in the body and plays a role in how our cells signal to one another…

Without cholesterol, our cell membranes would be too fluid and too permeable, and function improperly.

It is also the structural precursor of steroidal hormones in the body, like testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, and vitamin D. In essence, it is a fundamental nutrient for human health.

Arnie, you are a wealth of information! Thank you! High cholesterol runs in the women of my family. From my maternal grandmother on, we have all had high numbers. But not many health problems that the health media scream about. I took meds for mine for all of 3 months, years ago, and refused to take them because they made me feel so crappy. My doctor was thoroughly pissed at me. And here I am, still kicking! I think there are a number of severe health problems that have become epidemics over the last few decades that are directly attributable to the ingredients in the meds they give us, starting with the preventative shots our children are forced to have. Yes, we've reduced measles, chicken pox, etc. But we've added other problems like autism and other developmental issues that to me are far more dangerous. My two cents worth...personal opinion.

9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Then the bombs will fall

People will be very afraid
