I do thanksgiving with one of my best friends ever since my mom died, which has been several years ago now. I have no more family here and I don't like traveling this time of year. This is actually the best thanksgiving tradition I've ever had. Thanksgiving went from a "meh" holiday for me my entire life to one of my favorites! It varied a lot in my family growing up depending on who was around so we didn't really have a set tradition. I look forward to it now. We split up the dishes and we drink and cook and sometimes watch bad tv (or football, or documentaries) along the way. We often have other guests - whomever happens to be available and looking for somewhere to go. This year a few of her siblings are coming and they're a lot of fun so it should be a good year.
