We had a really awesome day today. It was nice. Then we got hit with some terrible news. An amazing person, family to us, lost his battle tonight with a rare liver disease that he has been fighting so hard for so long. He's been in my life since I was a baby. Very close. He has a 15 year old daughter. : (

This one may even be more difficult than my cousin John.

This disease was not caused by drinking or anything else he could have had control over. He was 40.

He recently got a flesh eating infection and during one of the surgeries yesterday his blood sugar dropped dangerously low and the surgery was cut short. They tried to get his levels up all day and night tonight, and just couldn't do it. : (
