Mysterious Red-Orange Flash In The Skies Over Bethel, Ohio Remains UnexplainedThe color of this mysterious bright flash was red and orange with a little pink and purple too.
The video shows the sky coloring very suddenly like dusk, fireworks or lightning, but the weird phenomenon wasn’t associated with any sounds.
Clermont County Emergency Management and Bethel police had no explanations, but received plenty of reports about the flash.
Duke Energy spokeman says that 584 customers lost power for two minutes just before 7 p.m. Sunday, but crews drove that line today and have found no issues. [ link to strangesounds.org (secure)] Quoting: KickinIt Has a heat lightening kind of feel to it. Quoting: Isis One Possibly, but some of those flashes seemed to last kinda long for heat lightning. It's always hard to tell from video because things can get distorted and it's not like watching with a naked eye. The reason I don't think it was as simple as heat lightning is because of how many people reported it. You'd think something ordinary wouldn't generate so many calls, so something felt or looked different about it. Quoting: KickinIt Another “scientists were stunned” event!
