A really must to have new plant that they say you can grow on zone 8 to 10 but many people have in Tn!
It's the Pine Cone Ginger or Shampoo Ginger (zingiber zerumbet)! Many many healing powers but one is to get you 10 years younger!

Hi Granny! Sorry to hear you've been ill, and just wanted to tell you I tried Sambucol for a bad cold and took it on day one, and by day three I was getting over it. It is Black Elderberry and zinc. I just thought I would mention it!

I can confirm that black elderberry worked super fast for me last April right before my cousin's wedding! A life saver!

Yes, good stuff,,,I put a fifth of vodka over a pound of dried elderberries in a large jar,,,keep in the basement for 6 or more months, then drain and discard the berries (don't eat them), and boil off half of the vodka, add a half cup honey...
there you go...

no special type of vodka,,,here is my recipe with added extract oils...

(though I have a very large jar, and do the pound of dried elderberries in a whole fifth of vodka...)
lasts a long time not refrigerated..

Fill a quart jar 2/3 full with dried elderberries,,,add vodka to the top of jar. Cover well, let sit for several months (I actually had mine sitting for about a year, but not needed so long)

Strain out the liquid, (do not eat the berries, although you can save them to put into tea, but do not eat the berries...) put in pan on stove, and bring to boil, (here you can add a couple teaspoons whole cloves and a cinnamon stick if you like) then reduce heat and let the extract reduce to about 1/2 original volume. Strain out cloves and cinnamon stick.

Turn off heat. Add 1 cup raw honey and:

1/8 teaspoon oregano oil
1/8 - 1/4 teaspoon grapefruit seed extract
1/4 teaspoon four thieves oil (you can get on e-bay, it's a mix for four herbs.
Dose: take 4 teaspoons a day if you have the flu or cold.

Hey everyone - it's the missing granny! Alive, but not well, unfortunately. Have had an upper respiratory issue for almost a month - and am seriously considering going back to the doctor tomorrow. These coughing spells are killing me.

It's been a crazy few months. Got Baby S back, CPS is now out of the picture, but have had repeated court appearances. Am really getting tired of all this, but looks like we may be close to a semi-final agreement that will keep us out of court for the next year. Looks like hubby & I will be the primary guardians, with the maternal great-grandparents having secondary guardianship. Baby S's mom is in federal holding for now, and has pled guilty of her charges, accepting a plea bargain that will get her from 15 to 40 years in federal prison. So sad. Her borfriend has also pled guilty but I don't know what his plea will get him. He has a serious criminal history so I hope they throw the book at him. According to one of the attorneys, Baby S's photos are confirmed as being on the dark web. So sick.

Grandson voluntarily went to rehab for 54 days, and is over 90 days clean as of today. Still a work in progress, but at least he's moving in the right direction. It's a joy to see his face when he walks in the door and Baby S runs to him shouting "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy"!

Have been helping with final clean-out of Mom's house for the last 2 months, at least until I got sick. It's been harder than I anticipated.

All that to say, I've been battling a bit of depression since before THanksgiving. Have to buck up and keep on keeping on when I have Baby S, but some days have been hard. Between the nightmare about Baby S the first week of October, to grandson hitting bottom and getting arrested in mid-October (why he finally decided to get clean!), then the repeated court hearings, repeated visits to the house by CPS, and cleaning out mom's house...I sort of feel like I've been beaten down.

On the brighter side, thank you for the birthday wishes! I hit one of those BIG decade numbers...am officially OLD now I guess. Lol

Am monitoring the Taal volcano - that one concerns me. But the EQs all over, especially Puerto Rico, are also concerning. And I just have a feeling of dread like something really devastating is about to happen. My ears are ringing something awful.

Thanks for keeping all the EQs posted - and for being a safe haven when the world around me is hard to handle. Love you guys bunches!

Thanks bigD! I took some for a few days but couldn't tell it helped. Finally decided to try my herbal remedies so am doing eucalyptus essential oil and oil of oregano. Am so ready to feel better - was thinking it was going into pneumonia..

Some Kansas testimonies:

The whole house shook really hard

My refrigerator moved back and forth. Things fell off the walls. Looked like the walls were breathing. Had to brace to stay standing. Everything moved.

Longest lasting one so far

HUGE

Worse one we’ve had! Our whole house shook! China Cabinet almost tipped over!

Things fell off the walls whole house shook

You've definitely had a lot on your plate, I can understand the depression. I wouldn't be surprised if the stress led you to get sick. Things sound like they are looking up though, little by little. I'm so glad that baby is with you, and that your grandson isn't giving up on his battle. Hang in there Granny!
