I can confirm that black elderberry worked super fast for me last April right before my cousin's wedding! A life saver!

lasts a long time not refrigerated.. Fill a quart jar 2/3 full with dried elderberries,,,add vodka to the top of jar. Cover well, let sit for several months (I actually had mine sitting for about a year, but not needed so long)
Strain out the liquid, (do not eat the berries, although you can save them to put into tea, but do not eat the berries...) put in pan on stove, and bring to boil, (here you can add a couple teaspoons whole cloves and a cinnamon stick if you like) then reduce heat and let the extract reduce to about 1/2 original volume. Strain out cloves and cinnamon stick.
Turn off heat. Add 1 cup raw honey and:
1/8 teaspoon oregano oil
1/8 - 1/4 teaspoon grapefruit seed extract
1/4 teaspoon four thieves oil (you can get on e-bay, it's a mix for four herbs.
Dose: take 4 teaspoons a day if you have the flu or cold.
