Hey guys - last post for a bit. Heading to bed...
Have had bad coughing and chest congestion for over 3 weeks. Finally got bad enough that I went to the Dr today - and tested positive for Flu A!!! Thought I just had a bad case of bronchitis!!! So got the new flu med (the body aches and other flu symptoms just started yesterday). And a Z-pack for the lung congestion. Luckily Baby S has gone to the other grandparents until Monday. Sure don't want her getting this.
Am really concerned about the coronavirus. Here in my neck of the woods it seems like almost everyone has had the flu or upper respiratory infection over the last month. Folks stay sick for about 2 weeks, so you know their immune system is compromised. I talked to my doctor and she said yes, to take the elderberry syrup every day. It's much stronger than the gummies I have. Plus, I went back to my natural health books, and I'm taking garlic capsules, oil of oregano caps, and using my eucalyptus essential oil in my diffusers. All are good antiviral and antibacterial. Should have started using them 3 weeks ago!! Am also checking to see if I can give Baby S the elderberry syrup - anyone have any info on that?? Simple or Arnie????
Will check in again tomorrow. Be safe everyone, and keep an eye on how the new virus spreads. If we do end up having to stay inside, as in pandemic type spread of the virus, make sure you have antiviral meds, food and water for long enough to avoid exposure. Better to be safe than sorry.
Quoting: justanothergranny Here's a good site that gives a recipe for making elderberry syrup for babies, and dosage....make a thick syrup and combine with a simmered elderberry concentrate.... [ link to www.motherrisingbirth.com (secure)] ...still praying for your recovery from this flu...
