Simple27 (OP) User ID: 40488826 United States 03/17/2020 05:26 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We, the US, shut off travel from China in January, before it got bad there, so how come it is in all 50 states? Something is not adding up here? Quoting: bigD111 It was bad there before we implemented travel restrictions. Death rate and spread were increasing quickly. The US got our first case on January 22nd, someone who traveled from Wuhan. Lock down in Wuhan started January 23rd. The people were given notice 8 hours in advance and MANY fled. An estimated 300,000 people were reported to have left Wuhan by train alone before the 10am lock down. [link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)] Flights too... Thread: At least 96 flights took off from Wuhan's airport before the lockdown took effect. Lockdown announced 8 hours in advance. Our travel restrictions, which didn't begin until February 5th, would temporarily ban entry to the U.S. of foreign nationals, other than immediate family of U.S. citizens and permanent residents, who have traveled in China within the last 14 days. Lots of wiggle room there. And it was already too late anyway by then. It was already here. ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

Lots of wiggle room there. And it was already too late anyway by then. It was already here. All governments underestimated this, in my opinion most of them, including WHO deliberately, because of the enormous impact on the economy. Just do the math by looking at China's numbers. It was the epicenter of this outbreak. Those numbers are at least ten times as high and of course they won't report big spikes anymore, now that they restarted. All those people locked up in their houses, barricaded, flooded hospitals, so many parameters available already 2 months ago, that were a sign that this was going to be a global disaster and everyone looked the other way. Travel should have been stopped globally, not restricted. Not only from China, but a lot of countries in Asia that already had cases. Now they do it finally, but with a much higher impact on both global economy and society. I won't say that this could have been avoided, but the deliberately chose livelihood (economy) over lives and that is what frustrates me most. Criminals. |

bigD111 User ID: 65945302 United States 03/17/2020 10:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Went by Costco this morning about 9:30. Parking lot was packed but I finally found a place to park. Got a cart from someone that just got back to there car. Walked up top the entrance and a Costco employee took my cart and said that they would give me one when I entered the store. He told me that the line was over there. Looked at the line along the whole side of the building and decided not to go in. Went back to the car and drove by the entrance where the line went around the building to the back side. So the line was along two sides of the Costco building. Canceled my trip to Costco. Quoting: joinca Then decided to go by Smart and final on the other side of town. got there and found a parking space then finally found a cart. The ones at the entrance were all gone. Went into the store and no T paper or paper towels. Can good isle was sold out as well. Got a handful of items and left the store. Decided to go to the Walmart in the town where I live to see what I could find. OMG The entire cereal isle was empty as well as the can goods and all deli meats and all of the cheeses. All water and paper goods were gone as well. No potatoes or beans or rice to be found anywhere. One more store to try Save Mart. Drove there and the same No potatoes or beans or rice and the can good shelves were empty. What day today has been. I think it's the same everywhere! My local grocery had everything, hmmm. Good! Seems curious to me! deplorably republican |
