joinca User ID: 69914580 United States 03/22/2020 11:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It started this morning about 10:30 with my Dad reaching over in the middle of breakfast to get a tums antacid. He hasn't done this before. Next thing he is getting up and complaining about a sharp continuous chest pain going across his chest. I opened his new bottle of nitro glycerin and gave him a tablet to put under his tongue. I set the timer on my phone for 15 minutes so that I would not forget that a second dose could be given at that time. The pain did not go away so this time I called for an ambulance. The fire truck arrived first and they did his vitals and in a few minutes the ambulance arrived. He walked out and got on the gurney and was transported to the hospital. When I got there I was ahead of the ambulance by a few minutes. When they go there the paramedics took my Dad in the emergency room door and I went in the other way to check in and sign papers. After checking in and noticing just two other people in the ER that were waiting area. My brother and his son that is a local fireman arrived and waited for a few minutes with us. Next a nurse came into the ER and said very politely to us that all visitors had to leave the hospital by noon because of the corona virus rules that are in effect here in California now. What a surprise this was. The ER nurse did the EKG and triage then my Dad and I walked through the ER door into the ER. What a shock because there were not any patients lined up in the hall ways like the last time we were there just a few weeks ago. The nurse took us right into an empty room and on the way there I noticed that there were maybe 4 patients in the while ER with no one in the hall ways. There are maybe 15 ER rooms in this hospital and maybe room for another 16 or so beds in the hallways. After my Dad waited in the ER room bed for about 90 minutes they took him for an angiogram. I waited out front in the lobby of the hospital where there were not any other people waiting at all. A couple of hours went by then the DR came out and I thought that he told me that there was blockage and that he put in another stent. After waiting until 4 pm I finally got a call that they were going to release my Dad about 5:30 to go home. They wheeled my Dad out to the car and we headed home via the gas station so that I could get gas while we were out. We stopped and I was filling up the car when my Dad said that his chest had a sharp pain. I said that they had just put a stent in and that might be what hurts and he said no that they did not put in a stent. I thought to myself what was this? I finished and we went back to the ER of the hospital and checked in. The ER nurse asked what was wrong and I told her that my Dad had just had a stent put in and that he was in pain again. She looked at the chart and said that the DR had not put a stent in when we were there just earlier today. This time they took my dad into the ER to a bed but now at this time of day visitors are not allowed to stay in the hospital so I left. Quoting: Zeke38 In my house, we've been using an inordinate amount of paper towels since this virus broke out. We have a good supply of the Bounty Select-a-Size rolls which are the half sheets. Even those can be more than you might need to dry your hands. I started cutting the rolls with a sharp knife down the middle and stopping at the core. It basically doubles our supply and the rolls I put in a couple days ago still have plenty of paper left. Hope this is helpful for someone! Thanks!!!
