I'm sorry but you can get diarreha with covid. The usual thing is pain on body and articulations, very tired and fever even low fever. Some people loose smell and flavour.

I was trying to give her something positive, Luis.

I say it can be, not it is. Diarreha can be a lot of things... even nothing!

Your mom, aunts and the rest of the family must also be very scared of this situation. Sending you all my prayers and well wishes. Let's hope his positivism and fighting spirit pulls him through.

I understand your point Kickin'. But I guess the main goal is that people spend that money to stimulate the economy, buy extra luxury items and such, which is the higher goal in this. Even though I don't think it works that way at all. In uncertain times like these, people tend to either use the money to get food on the table, pay off bills or save it for better times.

Many people already live from paycheck to paycheck and being suddenly laid off means for a lot of people that there is a direct stop to constant income and even with social security a big decrease in income.

Of course everyone needs to do what they want to do with this money, but if I may give a word of advice for those who have been laid off through this or lost their business as being self employed, I would make use of the bad situation and call your landlord, your mortgage company, credit card company, energy company and other possible institutions that require monthly payments and request that they postpone payments for at least three months and have them added that at either the end (mortgage, credit card debt) or file for a payment arrangement after this virus situation is over and you found work again.

Maybe it won't work for everyone, but keep in mind: If you don't ask, the answer will always be no. I am sure many companies will be willing to work with you on this. And if not postpone, maybe they are willing to lower the payments for the time being. That way you can at least use your social security income and this check for your daily needs and (if possible) save a bit for when times might even get rougher. So just call and ask.

Also keep in mind that due to the uncontrolled creation of money, cost of living after this crisis is over will go up due to inflation or even hyperinflation, meaning daily needs will be more expensive. Next to that it is to be expected that pressure on the job market will be high, since there will be a lot of companies that will not be able to start up again or already have filed for bankruptcy. That also goes for those who are self employed.

So bottom line and summarized:

Call who ever you can call and if possible save some of this money for the times ahead. We are far from being out of the woods yet.

As I said before, I really do think he was taken to the hospital at the right time. I'm feeling hopeful it was early enough they can get his fever down and treat his symptoms so this doesn't worsen. Sounds like the fever is already going down so that's a good sign.

Those scary things he said might've been due to the need for oxygen. Or, he was simply feeling so bad in the moment that's where his mind went, even if that's not typical for him.

He does need to eat because that will help his cause, so figuring out a way to get him food that he will eat is important. I can't imagine who thought giving him lasagna for lunch was a good idea. Why don't hospitals always have chicken soup as an option for any meal for patients? Seems like an obvious one.

Wishing him strength and also hoping the others in his household don't get this!

Luis is right, gastrointestinal issues are a symptom. Just happens to be a lesser known, less obvious symptom.
