Good evening all - took quite a while to get caught up! Glad your wife is home & doing better, Big D. That was tense, reading through the thread to finally get the good word!!!!

I've been spending my time working on the garden - it's big and requires a LOT of time. I work in the morning and again in the evening. It's been really hot for over a week, but today got to 105! The sun was beyond HOT on the skin. I stayed in and did book work, but had to run errands later in the day. Ugh! Only supposed to get to 93 tomorrow.

It was good to see just about everyone check in over the last week. So much going on for everyone. Arnie, I'm with you. I just have no desire to be a part of the craziness that's going on. This is madness, and very likely the beginning of the end for our great country. I believe we have seen more destruction of the very core of this country in the past 3 months than ever before. I'd love to find a quiet desert island far removed from all this....

It's nearly midnight, and I need to try to get some rest. My sleep patterns are shot to hell, and I am not getting the rest I need. I have a ton of things to do tomorrow, then get Baby S back from the other great-grandparents on Wednesday. My time will be very limited. Don't know how I used to manage when I was younger!!! Well, I WAS younger...

Had to be said....

Blew all day with gusts in the 30's mph. Now it is raining, lightning and thundering.
Have lost a whole bunch more branches, probably damaged from the big wind on Saturday. Took down half our apricot tree. It is an old tree and the fruit are nasty so we are thinking of pulling the whole thing but the birds love it so who knows. Nature is not just pruning our trees, it is butchering them. We are really worried about the 40+ year old elm tree that is 80 to 100 feet high, with a few old branches up in there. What has been falling though is live branches and they are medium sized. If anything big comes down, they could go through our roof. Not good. Too much was damaged with the winds they are estimating now could have been 80 mph.

Oh, above 7500-8000 feet, it is snowing. Yes, in the foothills of Denver, snowing. Colorado Springs could see it on the grassy areas.
