joinca User ID: 76969754 United States 07/08/2020 10:30 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Comet Neowise over Denver, 4:17am 7/8/2020 photo [link to twitter.com (secure)] @lorigraceaz Here’s a quick iPhone edit of Comet C / 2020 F3 (NEOWISE) with a bright moon lighting up the desert from near Nogales, Arizona this morning! Stellar! [link to twitter.com (secure)] Good Morning on this fine wednesday. thank you for all of the EQ updates. I got up at 4:30 this morning to find the comet in the North east from here in the SoCal mountains. WOW it looked like the headlight of a car in the sky. I tried a few photos with my camera but as Simple has said it is tough to get that night shot in the sky. If you can you need to try and see this one it is so bright and easy to locate in the sky. Anonymous Coward User ID: 77610953 United States 07/08/2020 12:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is weird. Look at the buoy map. So much red! Most of that red (and nearly all of it surrounding the U.S.) is usually yellow. Yellow= recent data, Red= no data for the past 8 hours. Probably a glitch or some computer-related issue, but I screenshot it just in case. Quoting: KickinIt [link to www.ndbc.noaa.gov (secure)] [link to imgur.com (secure)] Strange that I would see this. I was looking this up because of a loud boom yesterday here in N.C. Looks like the map is back to yellow but I did see it most of yesterday and yes it was all red. |

But I assume you saw a follow up post that there was some routine maintenance going on, so that's why so many showed up red. At least there was a harmless explanation! |
