We had our homecoming football game Saturday night, we play 6 man football, and we co-op with another small town to make a team. Before the game, the flags came out onto the field. Everyone cheered and took off their hats to honor our flag. It was a beautiful scene on a beautiful night. One of the freshman girls, who lives a couple miles from me, sang the Star Spangled Banner, acapella, and was perfect!
When it came time for the King and Queen, we were informed there were no seniors in high school! So, a junior was crowned King, but there were no junior girls! These rural towns are running out of kids! We do have a normal amount in the elementary, thank goodness! That's why I am glad to see thinking adults moving out of the cities! Maybe we can get some of them here! Hopefully they will have kids!
