Something wierd going on claimed to be linked to this quake.

We can all see this is no where near the caost of South Africa, but news media (genuine) and others are claiming reports from residents in CT that they felt a range of tremors, news linking those tremots to this quake.

But surely that's impossible, this quake was a semi-normal 10km depth quake out in the southern ocean ridge (though location was unusual, on that intersection point of plate boundires, they are usually closer to Falklands side)

I live on south coast of SA but felt nothing.

Ppl leaving comments about it here (ignore Begley, the quake was not in South Africa itself):

Whats interesting unless lying, some of the commentators description of the event sounds more like a meteorite or small air-burst.

Looking through the YT comments it seems like a lot of people in Cape Town felt it pretty good. Do you happen to have a link to the news about about the CT tremors? I'd be interested to read more on that. :)

Thanks!

Two hours inland felt nothing.
Friends that felt it did it was to short to be a quake more like an explosion.
Cape Town is regarded as the first spinner vortice.
