Oh my gosh, Simple, you guys have had more than your fair share of crap this year. I'm sorry to hear this. Especially the taste and smell part. Remember, babies that cough sound worse than it is, usually. They don't have sinuses yet, so it goes straight from the nose to the throat. I hope they'll come back negative and it's just the weather change crud.  Somehow I got this far in life without ever learning this.  That's just what I was always told by the Navy docs when my kids were little. I tried to find a source for you and the only understandable one was one of the google search questions and it wouldn't copy/paste. It said sinuses are fully formed around 14 years. When babies are born, they have very small sinus cavities.
