Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated

Thanks for all comments in my thread about scary sounds.Some are saying that explanation about washing the power plant is bs .I live here in Krakow for 25 years and never heard any kind of that sound .My explanation is that something went wrong in power plant and it created something known as skyquake.It created so much noise that some people felt vibrations in their homes in my city .This is situation similar to sonic booms .Anyway I don't believe in simple explanation that they were washing power plant or starting new power block and fog increased volume of that sound .At almost midnight on Sunday when people are sleeping ! And temperature was plus 2 Celsius !

Your explanation could make sense. It's very odd and creepy, that's for sure. Will be interesting to see if it happens again. One would hope that if it had something to do with the power plant they would acknowledge it. Clearly this sound was noticed by many, it would be nice if whomever was responsible would fess up.

We can see the conjunction right from home! The skies cleared just enough to be able to see.

I was able to get a pic through the trees and clouds! Nothing fancy, but I didn't even think I'd get to see this tonight, so I am super happy to have gotten even a crappy pic!

Cool, glad you caught it! I will try to snap one later too after sunset.

I better be able to see it from my front porch, I wasn't planning on going anywhere. I should have no problem. And it's completely clear here. Woohoo, just need to wait about 1/2 hour or so!

Huh. That doesn't look like what I expected. Is it because you're super-zoomed in?

I see Saturn/Jupiter! Doesn't really have that "christmas star" look I was expecting, but still cool.



EDIT: I take that back. As it gets darker I do see the xmas star.

Cloudy and foggy here, we can't see a thing! Waaaahhh!

Sorry BigD, that's really a bummer. It really just looked like a brighter-than-usual star. I was able to make out both planets with my naked eye, Saturn being much more faint. As it got darker and darker it looked a bit more sparkly and "christmas star"-like.
