My damn brain pictured some angry female vagina art.

Just google it.

One even does embroidery.

Sigh.

Take epsom salt baths, and Pau d'Arco tea helps.

Morning! I'll be thinking of Mini today. Also hoping you and everyone here has a better day today. Unfortunately after an excruciatingly long week I have to work into the evening to help out with an event. Just what I don't want to do! At least tomorrow's friday, that will keep me going.

Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated
I can honestly say that having my own business was the best thing I've ever done! It comes with it's own unique issues, but they aren't anything like what we've put up with out in the workforce!!! If you can at all make the move, go for it!! There's a sense of satisfaction from working for yourself that you can't get any other way!

Here's one for ya - true story. Will try to keep it brief.
My next-to-last outside job was for a commercial construction company. I was the bookkeeper/office manager/administrative assistant. Was shooting for working there until I could retire. Boss was an _ss. But good money and little to no overtime. One day he & I had a conversation and he asked about my mom. He knew she was having health issues, and that she had quite a bit of money. He asked me, I thought hypothetically, what I intended to do when my mom passed away and I inherited money. Did I intend to quit? I said probably, but wasn't anticipating having my mom pass any time soon. That was on a Friday. On Monday, he stopped at my office door and when I inquired how things were going, he said "Great! I lucked out and found your replacement!" And he was serious - she started work the next week!!! I couldn't file on him because he offered to keep me on for several months so I could train the new gal and help with the computer software conversion we were doing. It's taken me a long time to get over my anger. Yeah, working for other people sucks.
 Quoting: justanothergranny

Geez, what a terrible story! I appreciate the encouragement. There is bad with the good, and that is a concern, but I just have to keep reminding myself of the good. And the FREEDOM.

Love ya Granny hugs

Granny… I have a few of those stories. The best one happened during TARP, and I ended up with $500 a week UI and only $135 in medical insurance out of pocket per month.

Humans suck.
 Quoting: CleverCreator

Well, most of them. Especially the ones who make it into high management positions, it seems. Even hubby has his own story like this, but it turned out ok. He ended up coming to work for my parents which led to starting his own business. So, some things do work out ok.

Hope you're feeling better, CC, but seeing how the Canary Island thing is going, I'd bet your symptoms are non-stop. Prayers up & take care of yourself!

My mom is really sick. Terrible cough that sounds like pneumonia according to my sister, and getting out of breath easily. Got tested today at the freaking ER and it was negative but I guess she just sounds awful. They said to come back and be tested again in 5 days.

I'm about to mention the I word. As if my family doesn't think I'm crazy enough. Ugh.

*cracks knuckles*

Wish me luck and please pray for my mom rose

Brother-in-law tested positive. Their baby was diagnosed with RSV.

My other sister was admitted to the hospital last week with symptoms. She was so afraid they'd end up putting her on a ventilator that she discharged herself AMA.

I hate this. I hate all of this damn world right now.

Bring it on Canary Islands.
 Quoting: Simple27

I'm so sorry Simple! Praying for all your family, and for you and the stress this has to cause. And that they will be receptive to the I word. Keep us posted. And yes, this world sucks right now.

One of the books I read, again fiction, was an eruption that was sending a large tsunami to the East coast of the Americas.

The US gov decided the best coarse of action would be dropping a line of bombs in front of the wave to break it up. Made total sense BUT they didn't seem to know about the huge pockets of methane gas on the bottom of the Atlantic floor .... the bombs hit, huge fire started and burned off a huge portion of oxygen, which also would impact the East Coast - oxygen deprivation.

Let's hope the idiots playing at running the country don't do something stupid like that.

Stress level is just about intolerable at this point. I know it is for everyone. Life is really taking its toll right now on the good folks.

Apologies in advance but I need to vent. :\

Wall of text incoming...

Work is a complete shit show. Worse than ever. We are busy beyond our means. I guess after having everything closed down for over a year, the owner(s) decided to take on literally every event thrown our way for this year/season.

People are quitting left and right. It's just too much and those who are sticking around are paying for it physically/mentally. I personally am covering for 2 people who have resigned in the past couple of months, on top of my own duties. I'm so exhausted. Which of course will run down my immune system. I have my own health issues that I'm really trying to prevent from coming back, and that stress triggers big time. I hate that word...triggers. Anywho, I'm clearly breaking which is why I'm even posting this.

My brain is so jumbled at this moment that I don't even know what to say next. :(

Mini has to be at Boston Children's Hospital tomorrow at 1:15pm. Poor thing is gonna be so hungry. Has to stop eating 8 hours before. I guess they have no morning availability.

I just don't even know right now. The struggle/stress/worry is so real.
 Quoting: Simple27

grouphug Deep breath. Clear the mind from the upcoming and possibiles - focus on JUST RIGHT NOW. It's that big elephant thing - one bite at a time. In the calm of RIGHT NOW, feel all the love and hugs coming to you from all over the world. And pray - some of these stressful things can only be in His hands - let Him carry the load. You are too needed and loved to get down now. Prayers up NOW! And love and hugs sent NOW!

Sorry to hear this, that sounds really stressful. And I know how stressful your job has been in the past without the current situation, plus losing workers etc. And I'm sure the company is slammed, after everyone had to cancel events (particularly weddings) for over a year.

I had a bad day again myself, so something is definitely in the air. The dentist was actually the highlight of my day, which is pretty sad. Found out there is something I should've been doing at work for the past year or so for a grant, but no one ever informed me. Over a year ago I even recall asking my former boss and another staff member who wrote this grant (both gone now) how it would affect me, and they said not at all, I didn't need to do anything for it. I am too busy to take this additional work on, but there's no one else that is qualified to do it. So there's gonna be a big problem here real quick-like, because I can't take on more than I'm doing and if we don't do what the grant says they pull funding. Perhaps this will be a very harsh lesson for my organization about the severe lack of communication there, which I was just talking w/my boss about a week ago.

Hang in there, we'll get through it. hugs

P.S., best wishes to Mini tomorrow. Maybe she needs to get up in the wee hours for a snack, so she can make it to surgery time.

Prayers up for you and work, too, Kickin! It really dos seem like to problems and time crunches have increased for everyone. Maybe a warp in reality that is magnifying all the bad stuff! Love & hugs for you!!!

A couple of years ago, I said that a major quake event would center around Gibraltar and it would be devastating to the planet. Call it a premonition or astral message, whatever. But the feeling has never left me.
