When I was in Texas, they all made PECAN (they pronounced it Pea-can - I say Pacan) pie, thank you very much.....lol

But I am cutting you some slack based on location and because you are a superb human. Another word pronunciation I cringe at is syrup. If you say "SEE-rup" vs. "SIR-up", we have problems.
