AND owns-up to it, by updating both his yt video & this thread w/proper identification. snake it's a damn good thing you were standing right in his yard at the moment in question, and can therefore validate your stance in this regard with some level of actual credibility, being first person witness on the date and time in question in the selfsame spot accordingly... since it is quintessentially necessary for one to have been exactly such were he to thereafter presume he had any authority whatsoever to even comment in this context in truth, let alone detract and discount such off handedly as though he had... any... authority from which to bother, to begin with... just whom need I speak to in reference to the reality in this fallen construct having become something of a cartoon of late and to date? following which we can get down to particulars on why it's been allowed to continue unabated in this loathsome state... reason needs only apply no excuses will be entertained for there are none in truth which would ever sufficeth accordingly discount that, I dare ya |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 48826308 Canada 10/27/2013 06:37 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Arcturus is the brightest star in the constellation Boötes and the northern celestial hemisphere. With a visual magnitude of -0.04, it is the fourth brightest star in the night sky, after -1.46 magnitude Sirius, -0.86 magnitude Canopus, and -0.27 magnitude Alpha Centauri. It is a relatively close star at only 36.7 light-years from Earth, and, together with Vega and Sirius, one of the most luminous stars in the Sun's neighborhood. Chris Staug FL User ID: 7851759 United States 10/27/2013 06:41 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Me and my wife parked on the Intercostal St Augustine FL and hung for a few hours as this bright Star/Planet was a little off centered in sky all the way until it set in full view exactly LIKE the sun. Was amazing how it changed colors and brightness. I can see it doing that because of all the pollutions heat and such. The atmosphere is not as thick when looking straight up I suppose. We waited until it touched the horizon and disappeared then pulled away. Im getting a 11 inch Celestron and hooking it to the 24mp Nikon to record what I can coming up here in the next few weeks. |
in5d (OP) User ID: 44344886 United States 10/27/2013 07:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ... Quoting: in5d It's a Canon Powershot with a 35x zoom that maxes out at 140x. I bought it on Craigslist for under $200 Thanks... did you happen to attempt to identify the object using the Google sky app for your phone? ..if not will you tomorrow if it's clear out again at sunset please? Take note of Venus in a similar time frame further south. If you can get reference photos of both Venus and this object together if possible please do so. There's an article on In5D where I use a Stellarium image and mark the exact spot in the sky where I've been seeing this. I also have several other videos where I show on the cell phone app, SkEye, how this is not Arcturus, Venus, Antares, Jupiter, Saturn or Mars.... and that there's NOTHING on either Stellarium or SkEye in this area of the sky That is what I suspected... same for myself and many others. If you can get reference photos of both this object and Venus in the sky together or video, please do so. ..the Venus reference in the images being shared is lacking and without it we may as well be looking at Venus. It seems most places are cloudy lately people would have filmed it by now. One last question o.p.. If your camera can zoom much further than 140, why did you stop there? 140x is the max. If i couldhave zoomed in further, I would have! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21483018 Stars above a certain brightness will appear to move and change size, as well as rapidly change color. Go look it up if you don't believe me. I've filmed the same thing from up north a month ago before the clouds moved in but it seems a little closer now????? It's a Canon Powershot with a 35x zoom that maxes out at 140x. I bought it on Craigslist for under $200 So your optical zoom is 35x and with digital zoom you make 140, i gather your pixels are about ten to fourteen due to the fact the images look quite good, i have a 200p skywatcher scope with a newly modified web cam that records in 720 hd, hoping to catch this object tonight, i have already seen it once in my scope and i was amazed at what i was seeing.....originally thought it was Arcturus but sky map showed that to be over to the side of this object....great vid by the way.... |
in5d (OP) User ID: 44344886 United States 10/27/2013 07:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Venus ascending Quoting: Anonymous Coward 48085629 Published Date Thursday, 10 October 2013 00:48 Written by Edward Gleason "It's Venus." We've been repeating that sentence quite often lately, for many people have noticed that stunningly bright light adorning the western evening sky. We expect to say these words quite often, as Venus will grow even brighter throughout the next two months. Remarkably, Venus will be even two and a half times brighter on the first of December than it is now. At this time, Venus will be so intensely bright it will even cast faint shadows at night, provided the Moon has not yet risen. Venus outshines all the other planets and night sky stars. In fact, our sister world is the third brightest sky object, after the Sun and Moon. Many sky watchers often mistake it for a plane or spacecraft, as it is difficult to believe that a non-terrestrial object could exude such a light. One often wonders how Venus can always make such a spectacle of itself. Well, we understand that a planet's brightness varies due to four factors, two of which, its size and albedo, are intrinsic and invariable; while two other factors, its distance from the Sun and from Earth, constantly change. Examining these factors in greater detail will help us understand why Venus will always remain the sky's brightest planet. When we observe a planet, we're seeing Sunlight reflecting off its surface or, in the case of a gas giant planet, its upper 'cloud' layer. The closer a planet is to the Sun, the brighter it will tend to be as the solar radiation becomes more intense with decreasing distance. The Sunlight Venus receives is more concentrated than the the light Earth absorbs. Therefore, the reflected light will be commensurately more intense, as well. [link to www.portlanddailysun.me] I have seen them both together, looked like 2 Venus's pretty much but far apart.. same part of the sky though. Venus is not as close to the sun as this object... false. Venus is VERY bright in the western-soutwestern sky after sunset. There is NO other bright object in the sky except for Venus anywhere near there. and its going to get even brighter. This object in NOT Venus. If you go out to look at it, it will be the 2nd star to shine tonight. The 1st one is Venus. This will be to the right of Venus (North) and to the left (South) of Arcturus |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 48994189 Have you always seen in Northwest of where the sunset? I see it slightly southwest. Also....How long AFTER sunset did you take this video? It is only slightly northwest of the sunset. Venus is south of the sun setting. This will be the 2nd visible "star" of the night, after Venus. I'll try to document the exact time tonight that it becomes visible but I'm guessing it's somewhere around 6:45-7:00 PM, Eastern Time. On the video, I stated that it was 7:44PM when I was documenting the time, date and location |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 48996629 It's very interesting how this UFO behaves like a planet or star, i.e., stays in one place basically, except for appearing to set over time. A "normal" UFO would appear to move independently of the other stars. That's makes me think it is possibly a rogue planet, and that makes me wonder whether it has something to do with the phenomenal and persistent flaring of the Sun that we are now witnessing. wow you seem to be one of a very few on here who seems to be tuned in to what is going on.....to every one of us that wants to find the truth there is 100 with there either uneducated "its venus" remarks or they are just shilling for fun.... |
