What one culture in the far past attributed to a tree isn't the same as now, bringing a tree into the house and decorating is now just bringing a tree into the house and decorating it, ya know. Never knew of anyone making a god out of it. You got a plant in your house, better get rid of it, i'm sure pagans did that too.

given the spiritual world we live in, as soon as we see decorated pine trees, obviously "christmas" comes to mind. for many, presents and money are then surfaced. this is the connection to the "asherah", a form of wealth, or fertility in your life. when we receive presents we feel refreshed and renewed, strong and joyful. that's fertility in essence.

I guess the connection to the birth of Jesus Christ and an "asherah" tradition would correlate with fertility too.

and the point of this thread is not to change any of your beliefs or attitudes, it's to show you mine. not to force these ideas on you, but I think it's interesting to ponder culture/society/gapless trends of humanity.

but it's true, it's just a tree. which is why i see no sense in paying 200 dollars for one lol (ironic about the simplistic nature of the theme and connection to the "best shaped, tallest, firm [fertile] tree though). nobody wants a small tree :D
