OBAMACARE SITE CRASHES Minutes Before Sebelius Testimony
[link to www.breitbart.com]

During her testimony before Congress Wednesday, Secretary Sebelius claimed, "The website never crashed. It is functional, but at a very slow speed and very low reliability.”

Just minutes before Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius was set to testify on Capitol Hill, the Healthcare.gov site crashed. Spot checks verified that the State of North Carolina, Virginia, Utah, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, New York, Maryland, Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Kentucky, Minnesota, and New Hampshire are all down - which likely means the entire federal site is down.

The site was still down thirty-minutes into Sebelius' testimony.

Sebelius: ‘Hold Me Accountable For The Debacle’

...

Sebelius responded that she and the program are absolutely committed to the privacy of the American public, and said “we should be held accountable.

Rep. Frank Pallone, D-N.J., ridiculed the questioning from Barton, stating that he and the Republicans continue “to sabotage the ACA, to scare people, and to bring up a red herring.

Pallone reiterated that insurance companies will no longer be able to sell “skeletal” and “lousy” policies to Americans any longer under the ACA, and rebuffed Barton’s comments by stating that the banning of discrimination against those with pre-existing conditions will actually allow more privacy protections for consumers.

Continuing with the issue of privacy, Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich., ridiculed the program as unsafe for private information, stating that functionality concerns are indicative of a lack of privacy.

If it’s not functioning, you know it’s not secure,” said Rogers. “You have exposed millions of Americans because you said it was “an acceptable risk.

Rep. Cory Gardner, R-Colo., questioned Sebelius why she won’t drop her coverage for Obamacare.

“I am not eligible for the exchange,” Sebelius replied.

Rep. Billy Long, R-Mo., asked Sebelius if she would “commit to forego your government program to go into the exchanges like everybody else?” Asking again, “If you can, will you?’

Sebelius replied that she “will take a look at it,” and then added to Waxman, “I would gladly join the exchange if I didn’t have affordable care in my workplace.”

Before addressing Waxman’s statement, Sebelius could be heard saying, “Don’t do this to me,” to an aide next to her.

HAHA, UNREAL!! This is on google news currently. Notice the headline, followed by the completely contradictory statement below it

Obama takes responsibility for healthcare website problems
Chicago Tribune - 5 minutes ago

President Barack Obama said on Wednesday that "bad apple" insurance companies, not his signature healthcare law, are to blame for hundreds of thousands of people losing their coverage in the past few weeks.

...

Technical woes, however, have prevented millions of Americans from exploring those options through the government's HealthCare.gov portal since it was unveiled.

On Capitol Hill, Obama's top health official called the debut a "debacle" as she sought to assure skeptical lawmakers at a congressional hearing that the administration would eventually get the portal to work smoothly.

HealthCare.gov was down over the course of the four-hour hearing.

"Hold me accountable for the debacle," Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told the U.S. House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee.

"I told the president that we were ready to go. Clearly I was wrong," she said.

I wonder if Sebaceous Sebelius is gonna get thrown under the bus by her precious Admin, thinking that will somehow cure the public's apprehension about ACA. They're shallow that way.

That's kind of what it's looking like. I especially liked the last headline above that says Obama Takes Responsibility... and then the very first sentence is him blaming someone else, like always. 1984 doublespeak in action here...

Surreal, almost. It's maddening this has been allowed to get this far. There's been many opportunities to stab this ACA in the heart, but no one has really acted on it.

Earlier on when the Supreme Court gave their twisted ruling, I knew we were in trouble when I saw the lame opposition put up by the "other party". I can only wonder what comes next.

Surreal is right, I'm kind of at a loss as to how the whole clusterfuck seems to be imploding on itself before it's even out of the gate. I can't imagine all of the screw ups are intentional, as the ACA would very effectively further the agenda of further enslaving people by controlling all aspects of life. Arguably, one of the most important aspects, if not the most important (especially for people who have serious ailments) is health care.

Re: OBAMACARE SITE CRASHES Minutes Before Sebelius Testimony
I think that we should be looking at the high cost of the medical services provided, for example, the bloated hospital charges that we see constantly? What about the cost of prescription drugs? Medical equipment? All of those 'specialists' don't come cheap.
Could that be a major reason some people can't afford care?

When we are told that people without healthcare are a burden on the 'system', why is the illegal immigration problem and the costs associated with it not brought up? Border security is an ultimate failure, and those who cross usually get can some kind of care. Who pays? But let's not look at that aspect.

Let's just cram everyone into an overburdened, red-tape nightmare of a broken system that has no limit to it's greed. That should fix things, right?

Very good points. As for the price gouging for equipment meds, services, the US does seem to have the highest costs associated with these issues, even Canada pays significantly less for most meds.

Once under a centrally controlled system, where the government, pharmaceutical companies, healthcare providers and insurance companies are all under the same thumb, will these issues only get worse with the public footing the bill?

Their stance on immigration seems to answer my last question, it seems the intent is to overload the system, carsh and burn baby!

As far as I know she is still the active Secretary of HHS, and before that the Governor of Kansas.

BUT, the IRS IS IN CHARGE OF THE ACA. Let's all let the implications of that sink in for a bit.

Google, Oracle Workers Enlisted for Obamacare 'Tech Surge'

[link to www.businessweek.com]

Google Inc. (GOOG:US), Red Hat Inc. (RHT:US), Oracle Corp. (ORCL:US) and other technology companies are contributing dozens of computer engineers and programmers to help the Obama administration fix the U.S. health-insurance exchange website.

The help is arriving as the government’s main site for medical coverage remains plagued by repeated outages a month after its Oct. 1 debut. Michael Dickerson, a site reliability engineer on leave from Google, and Greg Gershman, innovation director for smartphone application maker Mobomo, are among those helping, the Obama administration said today.

...

The administration began touting a “tech surge” on Oct. 20, to cure the software and technology errors on the federal website healthcare.gov that have prevented people from enrolling in health plans and insurers from collecting data. Kathleen Sebelius, the U.S. Health and Human Services secretary, apologized yesterday and said her agency has pulled in outside help to achieve “an optimally functioning” exchange by the end of November.

...

The federal website is the main portal for millions of uninsured people in 36 of the 50 U.S. states to shop for private health insurance plans, with the help of government tax credits, as part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010. Fourteen states have created their own health insurance websites. An estimated 7 million people will gain coverage in 2014 through the federal and state exchanges, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

...

The site previously had no lead contractor. It was built largely by a unit of Montreal-based CGI Group Inc. (GIB/A) The UnitedHealth unit, QSSI, built a service called the “data services hub” that collects information about customers from the Internal Revenue Service and other agencies, and feeds it to the federal and state websites.

...

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, led by Marilyn Tavenner, had been responsible for building and running the exchange website. She appeared before the House Ways and Means Committee this week and blamed the contractors for the website woes.

...

Enrollment Deadline

About 8.6 million people visited the federal website in the first week, encountering software flaws and long waits that prevented many from even registering. HHS has said that capacity is being added to the system and multiple upgrades are being made to the software code, though as of yesterday error messages were still being displayed for some users.

Getting the site fixed soon is critical as Americans who don’t have health insurance by March 31 may have to pay a fine of as much as 1 percent of their income.
