Help! I have not read all the replies but can someone tell me what good a generator will do us if all electrics are fried? Did I miss something. I have one big solar panel, how do I protect it? Help please. If EMP fries everything, what good is a generator?

There are old motor/generator that don't have electronics. btw sandpiper, What are you going to do with the generator electric after the EMP? You have no food. Primitive predators/radioactive cannibals roaming around. No one else has communication or electric. AC611 is busy with all the govt agencies and will likely never finish the people repairs. You have bigger problems than electric. I've always wondered if I could take a generator apart and turn the axle with a running stream or windmill. I'm sure a handy guy could rig something powered by Mother Nature.
