No, the average person is not prepared. Some are, but most would devolve into something very terrible within 10 days.

Those in the cities would have it really bad.

We have the country where I live and could easily get there quickly. We would need to form SOCS (self organizing collectives) to survive, but we could do it.

However, I do feel that millions would perish relatively quickly (30 days or less)
