Re: I have worked for 13 years as a cashier in a grocery store...
Really?? Attacking the OP, who has a job, and sees the leeches sucking our country dry. Sure, congress helped create this mess but the leeches took advantage and "eat" away at our hard earned money that you and millions of others surrender as taxes.

My company gave us an ultimatum about eight months ago, take a pay cut or they would layoff a third of the employees. We had no choice and took the cut. I have looked for another job but most companies in my field are laying off their work force.

Now my rant........so my pay is cut by 25K and we are on a strict budget. I have been looking for a second job but most are taken by people over 65, who are returning to work and ask for lower pay. Other managers tell me I'm over qualified or are afraid I will take their positions. Prospects are very slim at best.

Anyway, after being turned down again, I met my wife at the grocery store to do our weekly shopping. We gathered what we needed and waited in the check-out line behind a couple and their four screaming, smelly and filthy kids. Their parents wore new, expensive clothes. Manicured nails on both of them. Her shoes, my wife commented on, were $500. Here I'm thinking he or she must have a great job.

After the cashier rings up both of their carts of food, the woman pulls out an EBT card. I had not been paying attention to what items they were buying until the cashier, who became irritated, told them he had to start all over because they could not use the EBT card to buy over half of their items. As he started again, I noticed the crab legs, whole crabs, liquor, wine, beer, choice meats, lobsters, variety of fish, lots of junk foods and sodas.

Here I am buying rice, beans, meats on sale. Anything to create lots of meals for the least amount of money. After the cashier rang up the EBT amount, which was about $325, he tallied the remaining items. $655 was the amount owed that could not be used on the EBT. The husband pulls out a wad of $100 bills. The cashier and others around us just looked in disbelief. He had easily 4- to $5,000.

When they walked out with their carts of food, people around us became angry as did the cashier. Some made comments toward them about sponging off the taxpayers. The woman blurted out, "You all are the stupid ones for not taking advantage of the system.".

After paying, we went to our eight year old car to load it. I looked over and that same couple were loading bags into a brand new 2014 Lincoln Navigator. The man kissed his wife and told her he would meet her at home after he picked up the pinball machine. He walks over to a 2013
Ford F-350 and gets in with one of the kids. As he drives off, the kid was not buckled in to the car seat.

I hugged my wife. When we arrived home, she looked at me and said, "We may be struggling at this point in our lives, but I'm happy to be married to you. We are an honest, hard working family who can be proud."

She's right. My only concern is to take care of my family. The leeches, in time, will receive the karma they deserve. Rant off........

I have seen "food stamp" days go from steady,to crazy , non-stop busy, in the past few years. The abuse I have witnessed by American citizens on this program is disheartening.
This is not a big town... Maybe 12,000 to 14,000 people...
If it weren't for the food stamp recipients, I would be out of work, or have my hours cut greatly...
But.. I really hate the abuse of the "system"
NOBODY should be allowed to rack up $300 in (mostly JUNK)
groceries, and still have $300 + left on their balance!
And I AM NOT exagerating when I say "junk"! Most of the people who get A LOT of food allowances, spend it on
frozen, dinners, cookies, soda pop, , and GOOD, High Quality cuts of beef. SS disability days... just as bad.
How sad... These programs were meant to help people in need, and they became nothing more than a big government tit that nobody wants to wean from.

What bothers me is that you live in a small town where that is happening. All this welfare is being used as an excuse to be lazy and out of work. And yes, it's a serious problem. I'm in Switzerland, there is government support for the poor, but it's tightly controlled to prevent abuse forcing people to move to find work or start a business and they don't really care if it seems racist to people either (Don't like it, move straight back to Erkelstan).

Meanwhile, in other European countries, it's being abused a lot. The problems are nearly identical to the US, entitlements, welfare, etc (In some cases even far worse than the US, the blacks there are tame compared to the North Africans here).

I don't understand why it's so difficult for people to band together and start their own operation. They prefer to be dependent on the government, living the high life, instead of actually creating a future for themselves and their community.

My plant in small town USA with its measly 50 employees gets hundreds of applicants every week. The ones I've talked too really have no motivation to create something, they all instead feel entitled to everything. So this tells me the problem is freaking huge and is going to have huge repercussions for the rest of the world if this keeps up.

OP probably makes at least double min wage if he was there that long. My cousin has been working at a grocery store since highschool..he is 32, is a manager of sorts. Makes more money than I do as a school teacher of 9 years..

if someone stays with a company that long, they are making at least double min wage, for the haters on here.

Every human does as much as they can to make things easier for themselves in the right now.

For some, that is ripping off their "friends", for others its exploiting their employees. Others play the system.

So what are you complaining about?

Being too honest?

Or being too dumb?

I can just see Tyrone and Taquisha fighting over a little patch of grass in front of the projects. I guess that would be doable in some places but unfortunately not in the places that would need it the most.

Some neighborhoods have a community garden and it's a fantastic idea but not implemented enough because it requires work.

I agree as well.

Let me also add that being content in life is a very positive thing. Not everyone needs a nice new car or a hot attractive wife whom you pay for. If everyone was modest like OP the world would be a better place. Evil and greed go hand in hand. It's much easier to get everything you want through evil. Look at everyone rich! Satan in action.

skulburnskulburnskulburnskulburnskulburn

Standards of discipline , even in Hell, are pretty strict. All you need to prove that is see how Freemasons and other satanic elite members behave. They are very disciplined.
The Devil is very effective, because it has a high sense of discipline.

Here it is, the edicts of the Church of Satan:

•Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked.
•Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them.
•When in another’s lair, show him respect or else do not go there.
•If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy.
•Do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal.
•Do not take that which does not belong to you unless it is a burden to the other person and he cries out to be relieved.
•Acknowledge the power of magic if you have employed it successfully to obtain your desires. If you deny the power of magic after having called upon it with success, you will lose all you have obtained.
•Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself.
•Do not harm little children.
•Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food.
•When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask him to stop. If he does not stop, destroy him.[

What is happening in the US today, with people opting to depend on Government handouts via food-stamps, is very sad.
But what this is , is evil trying to work itself into a position of karmic high ground. There are people who are effective, disciplined, self-sufficient. Then there are people who are dependent, in-effective, parasitic.
The reason why the free food is available in the US is that this is a platform to see how people would behave.
Once the standards of quality set by both heaven and hell is crossed, then Lucifer will hardly twitch a facial muscle when he wants to destroy the same people he is feeding today.
Be warned. Change. Be self-sufficient. Avoid taking Government handouts, unless you are completely incapable of surviving. Even if you do, make sure its only for a temporary period, and then give it back in the form of handouts when you have made enough to do so.

Never , never , never ever let your guard down.

Always be a warrior.
Both a physical, and a mental warrior.
This is how both the Angels of Heaven, and the Angels of Hell are.
