Quoting: Instigator I do understand personal mentality and social behaviour of scientist's will effect their decision making to some degree, not pursuing certain areas, especially if its cutting edge or fringe science as we call it today. Much more than it should it be obviously. There are very few scientist pursuing a life of "Pure Science" anymore.(Learning about and discovering new technologies and fringe theories.) There is just no money in it and corporations have invaded the scientific community just as pervasively as they have the political spectrum. You can only adequately research things that you can get funding for and who controls research funding? Government/big business that who. Things like free energy and cures for diseases that cant be marketed and sold for big profit are not getting funding and are actively being stifled and discredited. It's a shame. Even science has been commercialized. |
