The doomed GOCE satellite from the European Space Agency flew over Antarctica at 22:42 GMT and tracking stations did not acquire it across the Eastern United States.

The window of re-entry had come and gone, and the re-entry was likely between Antarctica and South America, probably in the Southwestern Atlantic Ocean. This would mean that a pass over the Eastern USA would not happen.
