Thanks for the list, RadChick. You continue to be an absolute angel to perfect strangers. Made me think of a few odd things I'm forgetting myself, also from #10... but if you can grow hydro veggies, you can sure as hell manage hydro hydro ;) nobody's going to be flying around in helicopters poking cameras at people's skylights once the fun really starts.

I'd recommend P99-100 filters, realistically you never know what you'll have to crawl through or under, and having silica, asbestos, and oil protection in one filter is ideal. Plus you can use 'em until they no longer suck air.

I've played around with baking soda and clay and all that stuff, couldn't stand the taste of any of them. What I DO like is apple cider vinegar, so I use that on salads with ground up garlic and spices (will remove particles and detox), and I make Kombucha and drink about 8-12 ozs every day (makes your blood alkaline). You can brew it at home in jars on your counter, and mix with berry tea, etc

The Konbucha is like a miracle drink. But most people don't like the taste.

I also do a shot of coconut oil couple times a week, my health was pretty bad for awhile but its slowly coming around, I really think we can mitigate alot of what has happened to us so far, and avoid the rest as much as possible. But again, no one knows, I worry sometimes, like when I saw the DOE reports in Alaskan fish, that we might be screwed no matter what. If PU is in everything and we just don't know it yet? Well.

But it just makes sense to avoid it this time around, if we can. I really don't know, if we can or not. Or if it will make any difference.

But what I do know is: I was outside the first 3 weeks after the accident because we were moving and selling everything off Craigslist in our yard, I know I was heavily exposed because of the metallic taste and I started havings symptoms 4.13.2011. Bad ones. I wonder if I had been inside then, if I would have all these problems now? Tests showed I had been exposed to Zirconium, which is what the rods are encased in. And I'm a few thousand miles from Japan. Michigan :/

Well, you know, we've made it this far. Have to keep on keeping on.

After reading about all the past nuclear tests and accidents in the last, what, 70 years?, I figure we, even via our parents, have all been exposed to things we never should have been. Yet we have survived. This Fuku event is just the worst event so far...because of its location and also the magnitude. The site has so many reactors, it's huge. Right on the ocean, on saturated ground, etc..

I wonder about anything from the Pacific region now. We have to be aware of where the fish, rice, and coconuts are coming from, where food originates, if it is contaminated. Anything we can do or get to offset the exposure from so many different sources, is good to try at least.

Anything we can do to survive and still have some kind of a life to live, is worth a try.

btw.. our friend hemp is a 'known' cleanser......

That it is, and that's rapidly being corroborated by medical studies around the world... but it will continue to go underutilized for the same reasons as always.

Ah, I take it gaffa tape is what you call duct tape?! I still think superglue beat that one in the long term.

Hemp could clean up ALOT of our contamination problems...oil, gas, etc but it is extremely proficient at pulling rads out of soils. There is a biofuel lab near Chernobyl that has been playing around for YEARS with decontamination and then turning the plants into biofuel.

Interesting that after WW2 we made Japan agree to NOT grow hemp. You need a special permit, and its very hard to get. Only a dozen perfectures allow it at all.

I am always amazed how everyone is running around like crazy about this doom or that doom where this really is the main issue. Anytime I mention Fukushima, it's like "Oh here he goes again". It's criminal how it's not being reported and everyone has this misguided idea that Chernobyl is "fixed". It should be mandatory that everyone have to watch "Chernobyl Heart" and "On Fukushima Beach".

I don't think they're that stupid and what does worry me is why the nations around the world are racking up the debt they are and not really paying attention to Fukushima. Is there something "coming" that makes all this moot?

It's ironic that we have all this social media and cable news channels out the wazoo but no communication.

In the end radiation doesn't play favorites. Sadly this will be one of the few times that everyone will be treated equally.
