it's good to be strong enough to deal with bullying. However being a "wuss" or un brave isn't to be despised. It might be a character trait. Even you say the victim isn't strong, the real guilty is bullies.

9 year old? In my time there were bullies too. But I never heard anyone committing suicide because of it. Especially at such a young age.

No it wouldn't. The issue of bullying has never been adequately confronted and dealt with in British schools, regardless of the race.

Sad to hear that. I figure the US' concern with bullying really has more to do with giving the school more power over ones children. I dunno, the whole mass media attention of bullying on this side of the Atlantic seems overdone.

"bullying" is a whitewash of the word violence, there is no real difference. Anyway the liberalism of the west is pathetic, eastern/southern Europe is the only place where white people have pride left.

That's because "back in the day," kids were encouraged to defend themselves. It was expected. In most cases, it was considered to be the right thing to do.

Nowadays, (and this has been going on for at least a couple of decades), kids are not allowed to defend themselves. They are punished as harshly as the bullies for it. Funnily enough, bullies aren't usually punished until the victim fights back.....

Parents have had their authority stripped away with this as well. Some are successful in defending their children.....these are the ones who aware and take the time to get involved...these are also the ones who refuse to let anyone else have authority over their children besides themselves. Many parents just submit to schools and let them call the shots for their children.....

In the meantime, the child is left to cope with this atrocious treatment with both hands tied behind his back and NO ADULT INTERVENTION.....

So sad :(. Poor baby. Evil exist in the world that we live in and I really don't understand people. I don't understand how someone can be racist and judge one another based on their skin color.

I remember a fight I got into in fifth grade, other kid started it and he was twice my size. Teacher didn't see shit till I hit him and dropped him like a sack of potatoes. Parents got called, principle was pissed, etc. I figured my dad was gonna beat my ass...because my parents actually believed in discipline...but instead my dad went off on everyone involved for treating me like I had done wrong for defending myself. That moment on, I saw my dad in a new light. THAT is how a father should be.

If a kid doesn't get a parent like that, to defend and protect them or teach them to stand up for themselves, to truly empower their children and the school wont do anything that cases like this will become more common.

Fucking pussy ass parents dished that shit off on the school. They are responsible for their own child's suicide. It is their job to protect their kid. Not the school.

As a blackman I never got that either, you have to be weak hearted or weak minded to hate someone base solely on race or religion. I am happy I got that much power over an racist I can beat them without doing anything they are weak.

Kids didn't usually kill themselves because of bullying, because they had options.....and societal support of self defense.

Once, when in 3rd or 4th grade, a bully was tormenting me for weeks at school. I was sick to my stomach every day. Finally, the bully made the mistake of actually shoving or smacking me - I can't remember. But I snapped and long story short, that kid never looked me in the eye again.

Funny thing....the recess aides watched from the sidelines and when it was over the bully got escorted to the office by one of the aides and I was sat down on a bench to "cool off" with the other aide. The aide, (whose name and face I shall never forget), put her arm around me and said "well done!"

Guess what....I didn't have any notions of suicide. BTW - I was bullied a LOT as a kid growing up.

The other part of the problem is the teachers themselves. They do nothing to help, (generally), when a child is being bullied. Just read the article above. Numerous instances of this poor child's abuse were cited......why had no one - parents and teachers alike - stepped up on the child's behalf?

That's exactly why this is foul play. The stepfather probably killed the kid and then made a noose and hanged him. Read between the lines.

The death of this kid is on the child's parents, and the school.

The only issue in regards to race I have, is would the media treat this story differently if it was an asian/black student bullied by white kids in a white majority school? Moreover, would the school have dealt with it differently?

I feel for the child and deport them bullies to their respective third world cesspool asap.

He was declared dead after midnight. His body wasn't found until 6pm, when attempts for resuscitation proved unsuccessful. He was dead when he was found.

1000% they would! The guilty white kids would probably have been taken by social services and put into homes to be re-trained or something! The Asian/black victim would be in the news for the next 20 years (as per Stephen Lawrence), his mother would be given a title and they would receive hundreds of thousands in compensation.
