What is the most memorable or best concert you fortunate to to attend? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1551183 Canada 11/20/2013 04:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The last great show I saw was Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros at Rifflandia Festival in Victoria: Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1551183 [link to www.youtube.com] In fact the whole festival was fantastic. But looking back, the most memorable concert I was fortunate enough to attend was the Grateful Dead at the Greek Theatre in Berekley in 1982.5 The wife and I just saw them last year. Definitely a good show. During the last song "Home", everyone jumped on stage...I'm sure this is probly typical for them, they are very good to their fans. But being there and a witness to it...emotional Yes, they closed the show with Home and it was amazing. A song that touches everyone deep inside for sure. And in reference to the poster above who also mentioned the Dead, the show I saw was magical and otherworldly in a way that I can't have enough superlatives for. |

This may have been the most intense show I've been to so far. I'm glad I understand hardcore screaming / growling vocals and this music - it rocks. |

Music covers a huge spectrum of ear candy...no shame in giving everything a chance. In the earlier portion of my adult life, I made the mistake of pigeon holing myself into one taste/style. As I got older, I realized there is no need for that. I probably missed out on some good shows that I would fully give my attention too now. Pantera and Megadeth both put on excellent shows. I saw them open for Skid Row at Alpine Valley in the day. RIP Dimebag. |

This world has gotten crazy where it seems no one can really agree on anything. However, imo music is a glue that can bring us together even for a moment and we should share our stories. Music will be around far longer than half the politicians and policies out there dividing us. |

It was rumored that they would do only one encore - Money. Which they did and then left the stage. The crowd started clapping and stamping their feet - no one had left - I was on the field, 20 yards from the stage and seriously worried the stadium might collapse. This went on for several minutes get louder and you could feel the ground moving from the stomping. Then, my girlfriend noticed someone on stage it was sax player Dick Parry soon followed by the rest of the band, then the first notes of us and them rang out, within 10 seconds you could have heard a pin drop in that stadium, it still gives me chills when I think about it. They are surprisingly low-key and trippy live - the last time I saw them they played a 28-minute rendition of "Southbound Pachyderm". Great shows though. Indeed!
