It doesn't sound like it was the first time they did something like that.

Listened last nite, if this was about a guy named Lester, whose wife and child were ordered to leave and she turned on the tape recorder. I also posted a link to it on my personal website. But thanks for bringing it back to the forefront.

Not bogus...

Justice was served.

Four former Campbell deputies sentenced to prison for suspect abuse

Lester Eugene Siler was threatened and beaten by the former deputies.

Four former Campbell County Sheriff's Deputies were sentenced to prison Wednesday.Advertisement

Five deputies pleaded guilty to conspiracy in the abuse of Lester Siler in June of 2004. The deputies went to Siler's Campbell County home because they suspected drug activity.

Their assault of the suspect led to their firings and charges against them. They were accused of violating Siler's constitutional rights.

Siler's wife secretly taped the deputies while they were in the Siler home.

In one excerpt of the tape, Deputy David Webber is heard saying to Siler:

"Let me tell you something. We're gonna know everybody that's supplying you. We're gonna know everything about your business today. And you're gonna take us and where you got your money, we're gonna take every dime you have today, and if we don't walk out of here with every piece of dope you got and every dime you got your (expletive) (expletive) is not going to make it to jail. And if you think we're joking, we're not."

Before sentencing on Wednesday, the deputies' attorneys painted a very different picture of the men facing the judge.

"Sammy has a history of good deeds, not only in the community but nationally. He served in the military for years, he served on the Campbell County Sheriff's Department for 17 years. He truly has never had a single complaint filed against him," said former Deputy Samuel Franklin's attorney, Andrew Roskind.

Friends and family accompanied the men to the Howard Baker Federal Courthouse for their sentencing, and the deputies had hundreds of letters of support from family, friends and community members.

The judge took this all into consideration, but
David Webber was sentenced to 57 months in jail; Samuel Franklin and Shayne Green received sentences of four and a-half years each, while William Carroll will spend four years and three months behind bars.

That is too much time, according to family members.

"I can't describe it, it seems unfair, he did wrong, but it just don't seem right," said Shayne Green's brother, Gary Green.

But Lester Siler's family says they are satisfied.

"Mr. Siler and his family respect the judgment that was handed down by the court today, and they look forward to moving on with their lives," said Siler's attorney, Kristie Anderson.

On Tuesday, another of the five deputies, Joshua Monday, received a sentence of six years.

The police in a lot of different parts of Tennesse have a reputation for being bullies.

In some counties only the high-school drop-outs and undesirables even run for sherriff or get jobs as deputies. Police work is not an honorable profession in that area like it is in some places.

One kid I went to school with could barely read and dropped out in the middle of 9th grade. He became sherriff of our town in the 1990s and was convicted of raping female prisoners in their jail cells.

When I was a kid the sherriff got caught selling moonshine liquor out of the trunk of his squad car to undercover FBI agents. This sherriff had been blowing up steels all over the countryside, eliminating the competition. He had the nerve to run for sherriff again when he got out of the pen...and he got 50 votes.

A year or two ago the cops in Cookeville Tenn pulled over a family traveling from N.C. and killed their family dog; that got caught on camera.

And the govenor recently suspended a whole bunch of highway patrolmen all over the state because they had DUI's.

I think they should have given these guys more time.

It's real.

Take a look at the pictures under Tennessee to see the 5 officers who did unjustly bypass the buffers of what justice is supposed to be only to become judges themselves.

If you listen to the tape, not just the beginning... you will see that it is legit. No mainstream news is another thing. This happened around Janet Jacksons nipplegate thing a couple years back, and this is a story that what was ignored collectively. Sure we'll put on the show Cops 100 times a day, but when a gloomy day comes for authority, not one whimper. One of them, I bet it was David Weber, must have said 'sign that form' in every possible way I could imagine.

One time he said, hey Eugene you gonna sign that form? It started to be so repeatingly like they were talking to a dog.

A Christian Poem

They said they liked it
but they lied it

They said they loved it
but they lubed it

They said they tried it
but they lied it

They said they lived it
but they denied it

and I said it 357 times last year

...that...

I liked it
I tried it
I loved it
I lived it

and I said so 357 times last year
but they forgot it

and I prayed so,
and I prayed so
they wouldn't forget it
but they didn't get it.

Amen.
