Professor of Nuclear Engineering at UCSB is advising possible "controllable collapse" of Fukushima SP4
Theo Theofanous, Professor of Nuclear Engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara, March 16, 2011 (at 55:00 in): In the fourth reactor we had an explosion in the top of the fuel pool. […] So that’s the fourth reactor which up to this point had shown no indication of difficulty. Now we have fire at the top of the pool and now we have an explosion, which destroys the roof […] To me that’s a very big concern […] The situation is the following: Reactors 1 and 3 have lost those pools and the fuel is basically destroyed in there. Reactor 4, the same situation […] The question now is going to be – this morning I was trying to puzzle how do we cool those pools up here? I have been advising through some channels that consult with me for the government, I’ve been advising them to be ready if necessary, to controllably collapse this whole pool into the floor. Because as long as its sitting up there, there’s no way to cover it [with water] [...] Basically, controllably with explosive, the floors cut through, and then cut this pool down. [...]

Sounds like an imbecilic idea to me.
Must be the plan, then.

Fukushima has opened my eyes to many things and one of those things is the fact the title "Professor" should not be automatically respected.

Does anyone realize what this means?

1. This guy is a direct consultant with the government so the SP4 is real, it's not a hoax.

2. The "controllable collapse" is a last-ditch hail mary-type strategy, it means that we're close to oblivion, closer than we originally thought.

That's a tough pill to swallow when I was on the fence this whole time.

I thought GLP and the rest of the conspiracy theory community was supposed to be more "awake" than others but Fukushima is proving that they aren't overall.

There is no department of nuclear engineering at UCSB. He is a mechanical engineer who worked in nuclear engineering at another university and for the government.

If he were truly in the know, I seriously doubt he would be speaking about this.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again.

The Fukushima complex must be blown into the Pacific Ocean using nuclear excavation charges.

All of it must be plunged down into the oceanic abyss just off the coast.

That will give the world about 50 years grace.

What effect would that have on Fukushima Daiini which is 10 miles north of Daiichi?

It would probably have little to no effect, if properly planned.

His assumption was based on wrong Information,
how many Times we need to repeat it until even
a few People here at Glp understand it!

The US used many Consultants as well as the Japanese,
the Europeans and even the Chinese, for me it is logical
that we hear different Opinions.

I didn't mean to imply he is lying. I just don't think he has accurate information. And it is strange that his comments seem to have been made in 2011. A lot has changed since then. so even if he was dead on accurate in 2011, may not hold true today.

From what I have read, the fuel rods have been flooded with thousands of gallons of water per day just to try to keep them somewhat stable. I am not sure what he meant by collapsing the pool into the floor. Wasn't there already complete meltdown, potentially into the ground/water table?

There are different theories but most people who are watching the situation closely think that the fuel removal from SP4 is fraudelant in some way.
