His uncle was acting in an advisory capacity since Un was so young when taking power. In the beginning of Un's reign, it was speculated that his uncle may try to usurp Un's position in a coup of sorts. This is, in essence, Un's way of saying "I'm in charge now." The question is, is he capable of being in charge. Was the escalation involving threats of nuclear weapon use tapered by the wiser uncle and now that his uncle is out of the way, how will Un behave? I don't know the answer as I have not studied the situation closely enough.
