"PETRUS ROMANUS" - The Prophecy Explained
People seem to have the wrong interpretation of "Petrus Romanus." Initially, I wanted the final pope to be some dude named Pete just to freak everyone out, but from the beginning, it was obvious that "Petrus Romanus" is meant to bookend the prophecy of St. Malachy and it is not a reference to the identity of the final pope. Rather, it's a reference to St. Peter, considered to be the first Pope of Rome (Peter the Roman).

All the prophecy is saying is that the Great Tribulation occurs during the papacy of this current pope that succeeds Benedict XVI, and that during the reign of this final pope, the spirit of St. Peter (Peter the Roman, a.k.a. Petrus Romanus) will feed his flock (Catholics from around the world) as the world comes to an end. The Vatican has left us some fantastic hints that corroborate this interpretation via Pope Francis's selection of the ring of St. Peter for his papal ring, and the resurrection of St. Peter on November 24th (the unveiling of St. Peter's bones). This is the best hint that the Vatican could have given that the time of Petrus Romanus has arrived. The resurrection of St. Peter is a hint that the Great Tribulation is now set to occur. Bring it on....

Re: "PETRUS ROMANUS" - The Prophecy Explained
I kind of...collect prophecies to see if any of them overlap or prove each other. An interesting intersection I found was between the 3rd secret of Fatima, the Blood Moon tetrad rapture theory, and Nostradamus.

Quatrain 6.6

There will appear towards the North
Not far from Cancer the bearded star:
Susa, Siena, Boeotia, Eretria,
The great one of Rome will die, the night over.

The Third Secret of Fatima

After the two parts which I have already explained, at the left of Our Lady and a little above, we saw an Angel with a flaming sword in his left hand; flashing, it gave out flames that looked as though they would set the world on fire; but they died out in contact with the splendour that Our Lady radiated towards him from her right hand: pointing to the earth with his right hand, the Angel cried out in a loud voice: 'Penance, Penance, Penance!'. And we saw in an immense light that is God: 'something similar to how people appear in a mirror when they pass in front of it' a Bishop dressed in White 'we had the impression that it was the Holy Father'. Other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious going up a steep mountain, at the top of which there was a big Cross of rough-hewn trunks as of a cork-tree with the bark; before reaching there the Holy Father passed through a big city half in ruins and half trembling with halting step, afflicted with pain and sorrow, he prayed for the souls of the corpses he met on his way; having reached the top of the mountain, on his knees at the foot of the big Cross he was killed by a group of soldiers who fired bullets and arrows at him, and in the same way there died one after another the other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious, and various lay people of different ranks and positions. Beneath the two arms of the Cross there were two Angels each with a crystal aspersorium in his hand, in which they gathered up the blood of the Martyrs and with it sprinkled the souls that were making their way to God.

Both these prophecies seem to indicate a pope will die. The Church suggested that the failed assassination attempt on Pope John Paul II fulfilled the final secret of Fatima, but there are many inconsistencies in the vision and that particular event.

Ironically there WILL be a comet small enough to be called a bearded star, coming out of Cancer in the north as it blazes a trail across the night sky to disappear in Hydra during the month of September 2014.

Comet (C/2012 K1) Panstarrs

This, of course, also happens to fall on the possible rapture date everyone is going on about with the blood moon tetrad theory.

All we know about Petrus Romanus is that he will be the last pope before "the dreadful judge judges his people." and that Rome will be destroyed during his reign.

It stands to reason they wouldn't be able to appoint another pope if the Vatican is utterly destroyed.

I guess time will tell.

^^^^ This, OP is right. "Petrus Romanus" is a reference to the Final Judgement in which the world as we know it ends and we sit in judgement before St. Peter. Every catholic knows this. And every catholic knows that St. Peter is considered to be the first Pope of Rome (Peter the Roman). There is only one "Peter" in the catholic church and that's St. Peter, who will judge the people and feed his flock during the Great Tribulation, which is how St. Malachy's prophecy reads, go to the link below and scroll down to Petrus Romanus and read about Petrus Romanus "Pasturing his sheep during many tribulations," that has to do with St. Peter and the fall of civilization:

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

That's why this last papacy is called "Petrus Romanus"....it's because it's under this pope's reign that the Great Tribulation occurs, and we will all sit in judgement before St. Peter, who is the true pope (Every pope assumes the mantle of St. Peter when they become pope). Pope Francis's reign is called "Petrus Romanus" because it ends with him.

That's why the Vatican resurrected St. Peter's bones on November 24th, it's a hint that the time is arriving. The Vatican is no different than any other secret society...they share their knowledge with you. The real Petrus Romanus has risen, the time of the Final Judgement and the Great Tribulation is at hand. We're now in countdown mode. Days, weeks, or months left, but not years. Only days, weeks, or months...

It means that the Vatican has always known, it doesn't mean that they want to kill you, at least not to me, it just means that the Vatican is perhaps the world's oldest and most knowledgeable secret society of them all, and they're sharing their knowledge with you that the end of time has arrives, and that the Final Judgement before St. Peter (Petrus Romanus) is now upon us.

Re: "PETRUS ROMANUS" - The Prophecy Explained
I think that this pope is demonstrating a serious change than previous modern Popes.

Francis has decided to not live in the lush apartments that popes before him lived in, but to live in much more modest accommodations.

He also refuses to wear the red shoes, a symbol of wealth and power.

Peter (the first Pope) was a man of poverty, this pope as much as the Vatican goons will allow it, is a man who lives in as much poverty as he can.

He even paid his own hotel bill instead of sending a lackey to do that humble job.

Francis is appointing priests to positions, poor priests not rich men. He has chastised serious greedy spending of a few of the higher ups. He has made the bank books open to the public, something that hasn't been done in centuries.

He is very much doing as Peter would have done, turning the church from attending the needs of the rich and being 'the rich organization' to one that serves the poor, and turns from massive use of wealth.

While centuries of wealth can't just be dumped and the buildings and such are historical, and will undoubtedly remain for some time. The way the papacy will approach the display and use (using a modest apartment over the Popes lavish appointments, wearing black shoes over red ones) is a serious move.

Furthermore, this pope is not interested in carrying on doctrine, but seeks to be an organization that focuses on works and the needs of the flock not the doctrine.

Watch another pope come around after a number of years, and this prophecy also be unfulfilled. Just watch.

Then again, if there will really be a judgment or whatever...hopefully the judge is lenient with humankind!
