First of all, best of luck. It's a real adventure. I know why you can't get 'over the hump'.
First I'd like for you to consider a change in paradigm regarding your approach to your writing...
If writing is work, you're not a writer.
If you love your world, your characters, and your story, you'll want to visit them.
Often people get mired in the false idea that if you write it perfectly the first time, you won't ever have to work on it again. Nothing is farther from the truth.
In the first draft rip into that story. Don't stop to correct typos. Forget grammar. Capture the emotion of the moment, even if you're the only one who will understand what you mean.
Second drafts, thirds... that's when the literary 'work' comes in.
I'd guess that you are writing 'tight' because you know that your husband is going to want to read the moment you get a chapter out. It's that 'pressure to be perfect' that's taking the fun out of the story-telling for you. Remove that pressure and you'll write like a bandit. Remind yourself that you'll be able to fix it in the edits... because you will have to edit. Plan on it. Heck, lean on the fact and let yourself tell the story!
