Many Lung Cancer Tumors May Prove Harmless

Research suggests CT scan screening might lead to needless worry, treatment in these cases. . .

Over-diagnosis has become a controversial concept in cancer research, particularly in the fields of prostate and breast cancer.

Some researchers argue that many people receive painful and life-altering treatments for cancers that never would have harmed or killed them.
. . .

Calling the original trial "one of the greatest screening studies ever done," Brawley said the clinical trial had successfully detected two types of lung cancers -- the 80 percent that could not be cured and the 20 percent that could be successfully treated.

"Now we're realizing there's a third kind of cancer -- the kind that doesn't need to be cured but can be cured," Brawley said. "We cure some people who don't need to be cured, but the study clearly shows by treating everyone we cure people who need to be cured."

So now we have people who do not need to be treated nor cured of cancer????

Anyone care to guess where this is going?

This reminds me of a while back when a "government study" determined that women under 50 should not be given mammograms for the detection of breast cancer.

There was a great outrage on the part of the doctors and that one was averted.

But I think this latest is just another attempt to deny treatment and really has little to do with what's best for the patient but rather what saves the cost of treatment for the government.

A doctor told my mother that she had breast cancer and needed a double mastectomy. the doctor wanted to do it right away.
My wife was a pharmacist and knew a lot about doctors and medicine. She got her an appointment with a doctor from Columbian Presbyterian in NYC
The doctor did an exam and a test. My mom didn't have cancer.
The lessons to be learned here are to always get a second opinion. Also all hospitals are not the same. If you live near one, go to a teaching hospital.

when a country is greatly disoriented —as it is currently in America with regards to polarization on many issues— that it’s easy for the Government —and other powers that be— to manipulate the public with lies and deceit. This is not a new strategy, but one that has been implemented in this country —as well as others— for centuries. It’s specifically designed to control the masses by generating and perpetuating confusion. in the past the truth about certain national incidents were not found out and revealed to the public for years. Now, thanks to the internet, it takes only a few months to discover the policies and activities of our Government and mega-corporate empires —that are criminal to say the least.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH:
Alan Isaacman
The People Vs Larry Flynt
"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, you've heard a lot here today and I won't try to go back over it all. But you have to go back in that room and make some decisions and there is one thing I want to make very clear to you before you do. I'm not trying to convince you that you should like what Larry Flynt does. I don't like what he does. But what I do like is... that I live in a country... where you and I can make that decision for ourselves. I like that I live in a country where I can pick up Hustler magazine... read it if I want... or throw it in the trash, if that's where I think it belongs. Or better yet I can express my opinion by not buying it. I like that right. I care about it. And you should care about it, too... because we live in a free country. We say that a lot, but sometimes we forget what that means, so listen again. We live in a free country. That is a powerful idea. That's a magnificent way to live. But there is a price for that freedom, which is that sometimes... we have to tolerate things that we don't necessarily like. So go back in that room... where you are free to think whatever you want to think... about Larry Flynt and Hustler magazine. But then ask yourselves if you want to make that decision for the rest of us... because the freedom that everyone in this room enjoys... is, in a very real way, in your hands. If we start throwing up walls against what some of us think is obscene... we may wake up one morning and realize... that walls have been thrown upin places we never expected... and we can't see anythingor... do anything. And that's not freedom. That is not freedom. So, be careful. Thank you."

They sure did! Given millions to promote Obamacare!

The big sellout.

That's another reason I am skeptical of this report.

Never know what to believe any more.

Years ago I had a Calico cat that had an extremely slow growing mammary cancer that we had a small tumor removed and this cat lived to 19 years of age and ultimately had to be put to sleep due to something akin to Alzheimer's and she roamed the house aimlessly often becoming trapped behind the washer, drier or refrigerator.

Once she stopped eating or drinking water, it was time to have her humanely put to sleep instead of watching her starve to death.

These days have a brother-in-law that is using curcumin to treat his recently discovered prostrate cancer and I use curcumin to treat my arthritis and my elderly St. Bernard who is now 11.5 years which is ancient for the breed.
